THE NEW SCM IOT SOLUTIONS AT AWISA 2018

SCM, the world leading producer of secondary woodworking machinery, is to participate in the AWISA 2018 exhibition which will take place at ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour, from 4-7 July. The exhibition is the must-see event for everyone in woodworking and associated industries and professions: furniture manufacturers, cabinet makers, kitchen manufacturers, door, window and moulding manufacturers, joinery manufacturers, architects, designers, shop and office fitters, builders, and other wood, timber and panel processing industries.

The Italian woodworking giant, boasting a double-digit growth last year, both in the field of woodworking machinery and as a Group, will demonstrate at AWISA its unique ability to satisfy the needs of all types of companies, ranging from small carpentry shopswho use ‘classical’ machines, through to larger companies who require industrial production lines that combine customised, high-quality processes with high output volumes.

At the Sydney trade show SCM Australia will have a range of technical experts on site ready to demonstrate its range of innovative machinery, including the and new “Industry 4.0” applicable solutions. In the area dedicated to the “giant from Rimini”, the new digital systems conceived by SCM will take centre stage: products and services made possible by an increasingly widespread availability of data and their analysis, enabling quality control and qualitative assessment of production – from the techno-logical and IT development of the individual machines and their ability to operate in cells and cell systems.

From an innovative, impressive booth of over 1,110 square metres in Halls 1-4 SCM customers will be able to tour the Digital Hub, an area dedicated to presentations and sharing where the latest generation, multi-function, wide-screen and multi-touch operator control panel (eye-M) will play a leading role; where another highlight will be the innovative remote assistance and maintenance system with augmented reality glasses (Maestro smartech), as well as the powerful Maestro suite, a comprehensive software suite for all processing types and methods, not to mention the Virtual Reality 3D Integrated Cells simulation system (Maestro xplore) and other digital solutions that improve human-machine interaction, simplifying and speeding up production processes more and more.

MAESTRO CONNECT: A NEW GENERATION OF 4.0 MACHINES

At AWISA, SCM will present Maestro connect, the highly innovative “IoT” (Internet of Things) tools platform, enabling data retrieval from the machines for later analysis. This is at the heart of the “smart factory” concept, which is simply a system that is able to monitor and optimise production processes so as to achieve predictive maintenance, which allows you to anticipate any possible need for maintenance, thus avoiding potential downtimes.

WORK SIMPLE. WORK DIGITAL

Maestro connect joins the other solutions available from Maestro Digital Systems, the platform of digital products and services seamlessly integrated with the solid process technologies for SCM woodworking.

Among the applications designed to work on a customer-interactive demo basis are: Maestro 3D, SCM’s user-friendly, top performance solution for designing and programming 3D items, Maestro cut and ottimo cut for advanced cutting optimisation and management, Maestro watch, the production line supervisor, Maestro pro-edge, for linear edging programming and supervision, and Maestro beam & wall for the designing and programming of beams and walls.

An interactive system on a giant-sized video-wall (6 x 3.4 m) will be presented again this year, to offer a unique virtual version of the company’s machines, reproduced life-size and with extraordinary fidelity, enabling visitor interaction that has never been seen before.

FULL SCM TECHNOLOGY FOR CUSTOMISED AND INTEGRATED PRODUCTION

In an innovative and multimedia exhibition space at AWISA, SCM will demonstrate new solutions for all industrial production processes, from furniture manufacturing to the nautical sector, from windows and doors to timber construction, and the most reliable wood-working machinery.

For all types of processing and for any production requirement, SCM technology represents a tangible application of “Industry 4.0” concepts and those of “mass customisation”, and aims to satisfy the individual needs of customers, while conserving the benefits of industrial production.

SCM’s technological innovations will embrace the entire range of solutions on show for the sector: from machining centres for panel drilling, with the very appreciated morbidelli range, to machining centres for solid wood and the timber construction industry, starring accord 25 fx);  from edge banders and sizing edge banders (stefani and olimpic machines) to beam saws, with Flexstore for the beam saw machine gabbiani p, the functional and dynamic 3-axis automatic storage system for the panels management. The focus will also be on dmc sanding machines and the evergreen joinery machines, world-leading top class designs combining unique performance and continuous innovation. These features are confirmed by the complete range of solutions displayed at the fair, and most remarkably, by “L’invincibile” range with its upgraded design and technological features, an absolute market benchmark in terms of precision, reliability and safety.
