INTERVIEW WITH RAISE3D

Raise3D is a multinational company devoted to providing the best flexible manufacturing solutions for their customers. The 3D printing ecosystem they are building includes reliable FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D printers, powerful software solutions, and comprehensive pre/after-sales services. Reise3D’s business serves the whole world, mainly North America and Europe.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Raise3D: For the past few years, we have developed several great 3D printers, like the Pro2 series and the E2, which have won many awards. As for software, we have developed our own slicing tool, ideaMaker, and the cloud-based management platform, RaiseCloud.

Our focus is on the 3D printing industry and in all the areas where 3D printing technology is applicable. We are now in the process of working on specific projects with corporate customers from many different industries, such as automotive, healthcare, education, etc., and we expect this to translate into optimized solutions for specific industries.

E.E: What new products will 2020 bring?

Raise3D: At the beginning of 2020, we launched our new 3D printer, the E2.

This year, we are focusing on optimizing the functionalities and features of our software products. In May, we improved our software solutions, adding new functionalities to RaiseCloud and ideaMaker, and launching ideaMaker Library. IdeaMaker Library is a new platform where users can get and share slicing profiles.

Additionally, we are launching an extended warranty called RaiseShield, aimed at the needs of corporate customers. RaiseShield is already available in the US and will become available for Europe in the coming weeks.

E.E: What range of products do you have available?

Raise3D: Raise3D provides a range of products that together form an ecosystem, which in turn offers comprehensive 3D printing solutions. We have two 3D printer series: the Pro2 series, including the Pro2 and Pro2 Plus; and the E2.

In addition to this, Raise3D offers a broad choice of its own filaments, conceived to give 3D printing enthusiasts optimal results.

Our software products are just as important as our hardware products. Raise3D offers RaiseCloud, the first fully integrated 3D print management ecosystem of its kind. It allows users to remotely control and monitor their 3D printers, which helps to save time and reduce costs.

Raise3D also has its own slicing software, ideaMaker, which is designed to be both intuitive and powerful.

Together, our products constitute the Raise3D Ecosystem, as illustrated in the image below. We are excited to expand it even further with the addition of RaiseShield, our warranty extension.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

Raise3D: I believe we are in a growth stage. In 2015, we started our business and launched our first 3D printer, the N1, as a Kickstarter campaign. From then on, we focused on product development in the 3D printing industry, and we built our own brand and made it known around the world. The revenue in sales of our 3D printers has achieved a growth of over 50% each year. And the total number of users of our slicing software, ideaMaker, is over 300,000.

We believe that 3D printing is one of the main technologies of the future, and its application is becoming more and more widespread in many different industries. The 3D printing market shows strong growth potential. And we will do everything we can to provide the best solutions for our customers.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Raise3D: We continue to see a market growth and 3D printing becoming common in manufacturing. The demand for desktop 3D printers is rising as more industries are adapting it. Corporations are investing in print farms rather than in more expensive technologies. The reason behind is that the productivity of print farms is higher, the payback is very fast, and they allow for flexible manufacturing.

E.E: What are the most innovative products on the market?

Raise3D: More than a single product, it’s the combination of all our products that constitute the most innovative solution. RaiseCloud is the most powerful tool we offer as part of a comprehensive answer to our customer’s needs. Users can directly send print files from ideaMaker to RaiseCloud, and manage and monitor the printing process with one click.

E.E: What estimates do you have for 2020?

Raise3D: 2020 is a year of change. Many things we were familiar with before are no longer the same. During this pandemic, we could see the fragility of the global supply chain system. I believe 3D printing is one way to shorten the supply chain and help solve this problem. So, I think the 3D printing industry will accelerate its growth from 2020 onwards.

However, due to the economic recession of the global market, this is also a big challenge for all companies, including us. We will try our best to deliver better products to customers as well as optimize our operating efficiency to overcome this crisis.
