ASSITES, DEDICATED TO THE PROTECTION AND GROWTH OF OPERATORS IN THE CURTAINS, SOLAR SHIELDING AND TECHNICAL BLACKOUT CLOSURES SECTOR

Assites is the Italian Association of Curtains, Solar Shading and Blackout Technical Closures. Its role is to represent and enhance the overall culture of the curtain product – including solar shading, technical blackout closures, external curtains, internal curtains and mosquito nets – in the national market and in the perception of consumers.

Assites was founded in 1986, is based in Rome, and today proudly represents the only Italian association of entrepreneurs in the sector.

It actively works to spread knowledge of the sector’s problems and monitor market needs, helping companies to satisfy them.

Qualified companies of any size, producers and suppliers of products and/or raw materials in the sector of solar shading, technical blackout closures, external and internal curtains and mosquito nets, can join the Association. Furthermore, professionals (such as technicians, consultants and scholars), representatives or agents, associations or sector organizations can also be part of the Association as supporting members.

The Association operates on two distinct but complementary levels. The internal activities, aimed at its members, range from training to information on regulatory updates, from technical-legal assistance to support in compiling the documentation relating to tax deductions for customers, to the organization of events. External activities are more focused on improving the visibility of the sector, representing its interests through lobbying activities towards institutions and important stakeholders and actors in the political and economic sphere.

Assites offers daily assistance on entrepreneurship in the sector and continuous updating through news, bulletins and internal communications, monitoring market trends and developments at a national and international level and offering support to companies wishing to undertake internationalisation.

Furthermore, quality and safety have always been among the priorities of the Association, which is why it dedicates maximum commitment to ensuring the training and continuous updating of operators and entrepreneurs in the sector, through the organization of training and safety courses on construction sites.

The numbers that give substance to this specific sector in Italy are of great importance:

  • Overall turnover of the sector: approximately 1 billion and 200 thousand euros
  • Number of companies and retailers (sector share): approximately 5,000
  • Total number of employees: approximately 30,000

There are many projects at work by the Association in 2024, in particular the initiative to bring an international building envelope fair back to Italy. In fact, the Caseitaly Expo fair will take place from 12 to 14 February 2025 in Bergamo (Lombarida). This event will represent a point of reference for the Made in Italy and international building envelope sector, offering an important opportunity to showcase one’s excellence and connect with the main players in the sector.

The event will be characterized by a strong verticality, focusing on the entire world of awnings, solar shading, technical closures and other excellences that are an integral part of the Italian and international industrial panorama. We recognize that the building envelope sector represents absolute industrial and technological excellence, with important development potential not yet exploited.

The participation of Italian and foreign companies in this event will be fundamental to bring back the centrality of the exhibition center in this sector, not only for commercial purposes but also in terms of relationships, training and image, also giving our sector the recognition and visibility, it deserves, consolidating its strategic role in the Italian and international industrial panorama. Furthermore, as exhibitors at the CASEITALY EXPO Fair, you will have the opportunity to show all the innovative solutions.
