EUROSTAT, GLOBAL SOLUTIONS FOR ESD PROTECTION

European leader in the sector, Eurostat offers, through direct presence in 16 countries in Europe, global solutions for protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD), a major cause of electronic circuit failures. On the strength of its development, the company designs new proprietary solutions adapted to market needs and environmental challenges.

Easy Engineering: Which are the most innovative products / solutions and what special features do they have?

Due to the complexity of the mechanisms, automotive electronics are increasingly sensitive. But the understanding of the protection to be provide and the answers on the market remain inadequate. Thanks to our position as a voting member of the world committee for standards in this industry (IEC), we are aware of the issues related to ESD protection and can provide real expertise and knowledge in this area.

Eurostat works on the material to design and provide proprietary solutions, adapted to the needs, in particular rigid packaging used to transport electronic equipment to automotive industry. We have developed thermoplastic materials that actually protect against ESD, dissipating the discharges instead of eliminating them in an uncontrolled and rapid manner. This really limits the nuisance generated on the equipment and constitutes our strength in the sector.

E.E: How do your best products / solutions work?

Over the year, Eurostat has acquired specific industrial knowledge resulting in some original patent pending industrial processes. Thanks to our experience in thermoplastic extrusions, Eurostat has engineered some proprietary compounds, such as E-STAT®.

E-STAT® is the only safe solution to ESD handling. Made of permanent static dissipative PS, adapted to clean environment, no heavy metal content, no particular emission due to the absence of carbon powder, E-STAT® offers the true ESD protection inside & outside EPA.

More about E-stat

E.E: In what types of projects do clients use your products / solutions?

Many electronic components and assemblies used in high quality products technology can be damaged or degraded by the sudden exchange of charges static electrics. This electrostatic discharge, or ESD, is the reason why sectors handling sensitive electronic components must take action to minimize risk.

The integrated production enables Eurostat to be a dedicated supplier for the handling and the packing of industrial products sensitive to micro-nuisances.

E.E: How important is innovation / R&D in your field?

Innovation is at the heart of our strategy, and has allowed us to maintain double-digit growth over the past 15 years.

E.E: How can clients sustainably use your products / solutions?

Winner of the European MORE label (Monitoring Recyclates for Europe) for the third consecutive year, the company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. Our manufacturing process is intrinsically based on the optimal use of recycled materials (around 80% for rigid packaging and 50% for flexible packaging).

E.E: How do you see the future in your field?

Our objective is to make the company even more resilient by continuing to automate tasks with low added value. The main challenges will therefore be to deploy automation processes enabled by AI, as per example new generation robotics (cobots) to automate production processes.

E.E: What are the business plans for 2024?

Thanks to our innovative solutions, our main challenge is to continue to gain new market shares in automotive electronics and thus strengthen our position as European leader in the sector.
