Flow Robotics A/S makes automated liquid handling accessible in all laboratories with the intuitive and user-friendly pipetting robot, flowbot® ONE.

They are on a mission to remove all the barriers of automation so it is cost-effective and not difficult at all.

The flowbot® ONE

flowbot® ONE takes over many of the repetitive and burdensome manual pipetting tasks in a laboratory for applications such as e.g., PCR, qPCR, ELIZA, NGS, Normalization, sample dilution etc.

This reduces the work-related injuries that come from working in fixed positions. It also increases the throughput, accuracy, reduces human errors and stress, and enables lab personnel to engage in other more valuable activities.

Flowbot® ONE is a plug and play solution with 12 positions on the deck. It has a high precision and is carefully designed to be as flexible as possible.

The software is a web application that can be used in any browser. It does not require programming skills and can easily be adjusted if a procedure changes in a lab.

“The software is designed with the user in mind, and we have created something that anybody can use so the customer does not need a super user in the lab“, says CCO Michael Davidsen from Flow Robotics.

A future-proof solution

Most laboratories across the world are beginning to automate with the main market segment being biotechnology- and pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, diagnostics laboratories & CROs, and research- and academic institutes.

The lab automation market is fundamentally propelled forward by the needs in the laboratories. As new technological achievements emerge, so does the need to optimize lab automation.

Traditionally, lab automation has been used almost exclusively in high-throughput labs simply because it was expensive and difficult. However, flowbot® ONE makes lab automation accessible to labs of all shapes and sizes.

“The fact that it is no longer only large high-throughput labs, that can implement automation, helps scientists and lab technicians across the globe reach their full potential. We are facing an exciting future where lab automation will become the new normal,” explains CCO Michael Davidsen from Flow Robotics.

AniCon, a German based producer of veterinary diagnostics PCR kits for livestock, uses flowbot® ONE for quality control to help optimize the work process and create a better work environment with less stress and fewer strain injuries.

“The flowbot ONE is by far the easiest robot I’ve ever programmed. (…) It increased the speed of throughput so much that we have a pile of experiments to evaluate afterwards. That would never have happened without the flowbot® ONE”,explains Florian Werner, Lab Automation Specialist, AniCon.

Flow Robotics’ focus remains on developing easy and intuitive software and making automation technology accessible for all. The company is always looking for ways to expand and meet the challenges of tomorrow with a future-proof solution.
