Interview with Wlodzimierz Włoch, Brand Manager Forner.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Wlodzimierz Włoch: At Forner®, we offer a new breed of decorative panels coated with various artificial finishes, crafted using the finest European components and state-of-the-art machinery. Notably, our Super Gloss panels exhibit unparalleled color depth, mirror-like reflections, and exceptional durability. Our Matt panels, conversely, boast a silky smooth texture, alongside anti-fingerprint and scratch-resistant attributes. With Forner’s decorative panels, designers can bring to life practical and visually captivating environments and furnishings.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

W.W : This year, Forner introduced a captivating addition to our flagship collection: Velvet Ultra Matt. Distinguished by its breathtaking pastel shades and deep matte surface, the Velvet collection facilitates the creation of elegant and minimalistic interiors. Beyond its matte allure and silky feel, Velvet also incorporates scratch-resistant and anti-fingerprint technologies. Velvet Ultra Matt marries opulent aesthetics with practicality, featuring straightforward maintenance and significantly enhanced longevity compared to rival materials.

Our latest innovation, the Pearl collection, unveils a sensuous glamour effect on the matt-shiny surface. Crafted using cutting-edge materials, Pearl boasts a unique and subtle pearl coating, inducing dynamic charm within any interior space. The panels’ distinctive reflections dance at various angles, heightening their allure. Furthermore, the Pearl panel’s decorative layer offers exceptional optical properties, coupled with resistance against UV rays, micro-scratches, and moisture. This durability makes Pearl panels a versatile choice for any interior setting.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

W.W : Our assortment comprises over 100 colors of matt and glossy furniture panels meticulously tailored to our customers’ preferences. When factoring in our inventory of select MFC boards and thin tops sourced from prominent European manufacturers, our color palette surpasses 300 options.

E.E: At what stage is the market in which you currently operate?

W.W : The European furniture market stands as a pinnacle of sophistication, with Central and Western Europe emerging as purveyors of the finest furniture components.

The Polish furniture industry, where Forner comes from, is in the top three in the world when it comes to the largest exporters of home furnishings. The industry estimates that sales revenues reached EUR 13 billion in 2021.

E.E: What can you tell us about the market trends?

W.W : Forner products serve as both trend followers and pioneers, often introducing designs that precede prevailing trends by up to a year. A case in point was our transition from glossy to matte surfaces—while glossy finishes enjoyed dominance for an extended period in Europe, our matte surfaces ushered in a subdued color palette with even light diffusion. Classic wood tones remain a steadfast staple in design. Additionally, customers are gravitating toward eco-friendly materials in raw board manufacturing and finished products alike.

E.E: What are the most innovative products on the market?

W.W : In our sector, innovation pertains to novel structures and materials that enhance raw board applications. Innovations extend to techniques like laser edge technology, allowing for seamless, jointless front creations akin to fully varnished surfaces.
