Easy Engineering: Which are the fields of activity where you are operating?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: DAT instruments operates in the special foundation sector such as piling, jet grouting, CFA, diaphragm walls, drilling, grout injection, soil mixing and vibroflotation.
E.E: Which are the most significant projects from 2022?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: Starting from the end of 2021, DAT instruments has worked in a Horizontal drilling project in Hong Kong. A customer who bought our classic data logger JET 4000 AME / J years ago has carried out this project. They recently contacted DAT instruments headquarters to upgrade them with the new DAT TinyLog. The Customer would like to expand and modernize his drilling equipment with the new DAT TinyLog. As done previously, the R&D department designed and reprogrammed the DAT TinyLog according to Customer’s needs.
E.E: What are the usual challenges you encounter?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: After many years of experience, DAT instruments researchers have also customized sensors (pressure sensors for mud pumps, hydraulic pressure sensors for pull/thrust and torque, and inductive sensors for rotational speed, as well as encoders to measure depth and feed rate) to the specific needs of the trenchless world. The DAT TinyLog datalogger, as well as the JET 4000 AME / J, also performs the function of supporting the calculation of curve parameters. Very useful when you need to deviate from the ideal drill trajectory.
E.E: How did you overcome the challenges?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: According to DAT instruments the most important thing is listening to customers’ needs. A great company, like DAT instruments is always focused on solving problems to people working in field. And we all know that special foundations job sites are often difficult and dangerous.
E.E: Which are the most innovative products/solutions in your lineup?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: DAT instruments datalogger are very innovative. Our new DAT WideLog and DAT TinyLog dataloggers are touch screen, color monitor, internet data transfer, etc…
However, more important is reliability. Products are meant for building sites. Services are meant for building sites.
E.E: What was the research behind the products/solutions?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: R&D department in DAT instruments is always working and thinking of the future. We are selling data loggers from over 20 years and it is obvious that the specific market has changed in this long period of time. DAT instruments R&D is planning and building new product following new needs. This is why our DAT WideLog and DAT TinyLog are touchscreen data loggers and directly connected to the Internet. The whole world is connected online as well as our data loggers.
E.E: What products / solutions were used in the projects?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: In this projects JET 4000 AME / J first and DAT TinyLog were used to carry out this job.
E.E: Why did the clients choose your products / solutions?
DAT INSTRUMENTS: This client chooses DAT instruments again for the durability of its products and sensors and for its after-sales services. It has been possible to install these new DAT TinyLog data loggers using the DAT Online service. It means that the technical staff in Hong Kong installed data logger and sensors while connected online with DAT instruments technicians. In this way it is possible to have a great service at a lower cost.
