Easy Engineering: Give us some examples of projects in which your products / solutions were used?
Rody Duisters: The marXact UNI-GR1 can be used for many different tasks. Our first customers were companies that are working in infrastructure and cables. With the UNI, they can immediately survey the fiber optics cable when it is put in the ground, with the surveying data available in the UNI-Cloud in real-time.
Lately, we see more and more green professionals discover the ease of digital surveying themselves. Within a few minutes, they have measured a garden. This data can be used to create a very precise drawing for the customer, and the materials can be ordered accurately. After finishing the drawing, e.g. in AutoCAD, the green professional can use the UNI to stakeout. This are just a few examples of customers in many industries, such as construction, festival organizing and many more.
E.E: What products / solutions were used in these projects?
R.D: We basically offer one comprehensive solution; marXact UNI-Complete. This package consists of the UNI-GR1 GNSS receiver; a surveying pole, tablet and tablet mount, the UNI-Connect surveying software, UNI-RTK (centimeter accurate correction data) and UNI-Cloud & Support for real time data transferring and on-site support.

E.E: What special characteristics do your products / solutions have compared to others?
R.D: marXact offers a complete solution for a sharp and transparent price, no vague pricing or complicated inquiries. Furthermore, we have created software that is easy to use, so anyone can be using the UNI. But what really makes us unique compared to others, is that we are doing everything we can to satisfy our customers. When facing problems in the field, they can give us a call and we can see what is going on in the UNI remotely, and change settings if needed. As a result, we can fix almost all problems in a few minutes, enabling our customers to continue their work.
E.E: How did your products / solutions improve productivity / efficiency for the users?
R.D: By making centimeter accurate surveying possible for everyone inside any organization, we make sure that the data is there when needed. Let’s say that the ground is still open when fiber optics are put into it. The company does not need to hire a professional surveyor to measure that cable. Instead, the fieldworker can survey the cable before the ground is closed. This results in a quicker work process. The data is available in the office in real-time and the ground can be closed straight after surveying. Within minutes, the task is done.
E.E: What was the feedback from users?
R.D: Most users choose marXact because they feel heard. When there is a problem, we do everything to fix it, with the customer’s best interest in mind. If a user has feedback, we listen and see how we can adapt to improve the surveying experience of all customers. And when they are facing an issue while in the field, we can help them continue their work within minutes, in 99% of the times.
E.E: How do users work better with your products / solutions?
R.D: By making use of the marXact UNI, customers can work faster, more efficient, and are not dependent on the availability of a professional land surveyor. Anyone inside the organization can do the surveying tasks, so when someone is unavailable for any reason, someone else can complete the tasks.
E.E: Which are the most successful products / solutions in your lineup?
R.D: Our UNI-Complete package. Simply because this package contains everything that is needed to get started. Customers do not need to arrange anything elsewhere. We make sure that everything is set-up and ready to use. The customer simply has to start up the device and start surveying!
E.E: How important is sustainability in your field?
R.D: Of course, we believe that sustainability is important, and we see that many customers in our field are working hard to improve their activities to become more sustainable.
E.E: What are your forecasts for the rest of 2022?
R.D: In the last two weeks of October, we are exhibiting at the INTERGEO trade fair in Essen, and the bauma trade fair in Munich. Feel free to pass by! Furthermore, we are finalizing our new UNI-Collect app, wherein surveying will become even more easy. It can be downloaded from the Apple app store and the Google Play store by the end of this year! Finally, we are about to launch machine control. Control your excavator bucket with centimeter accuracy! We are releasing a preview soon, expecting sales to start in the beginning of 2023. In short, we continue to make centimeter accurate surveying possible for every fieldworker, on foot or in an excavator!
