Easy Engineering: Tell us about your ranges of products / solutions.
Goreti Gomes: Dikamar® is a manufacturer of PU and PVC boots, both in safety and non-safety versions. All of our wellington boots are made with virgin raw materials from certified suppliers to give them the comfort, safety, and durability that you need to get the job done. Our work boots brands are Alpha®, Alpha Trace®, Alpha Icepack® and Eaglegrip®.
We also manufacture safety leather shoes and insulated workwear under the brands SafetyPro® and Ticeworkwear®.
Our goal is to manufacture high quality work boots to meet the workers’ needs of all activity areas and work environments such as food processing industry, construction, agriculture, gardening, hunting, and fishing.
E.E: Which are the most sold products / solutions?
G.G: Our best seller boots are the Alpha® S5 Green/Black and the Alpha Trace® High Visibility S5 for the Construction & Industry sectors, and the EagleGrip® S4 for the Food Processing Industry. In 2023, Dikamar sold more than 50,000 pairs of EagleGrip® boots for the Food Industry, representing an increase of 30% over 2022.
E.E: What are clients looking for when they want to buy products / solutions from your range?
G.G: Our customers are looking for expertise in footwear, product quality and competitive prices.
E.E: On which aspects should clients focus when deciding to buy a product / solution?
G.G: They should focus on the specific safety needs that their activity requires in order to acquire the most suitable boot for their activity.
E.E: Tell us a short buying guide for clients who want to purchase your products / solutions?
G.G: When a customer wants to buy a product from us, they first have to understand the level of safety they need: non-safety footwear, footwear with a toecap or full safety footwear. Then they need to clarify the area in which they work, because each boot is designed for a specific area: construction, industry, food industry, agriculture, fishing, cold…and finally the budget they have available. This last factor will determine whether you buy a PU or PVC boot.
E.E: What should clients know when they plan to upgrade their existing solutions?
G.G: If the customer wants to upgrade their footwear by buying one of our products, he should bear in mind that he is choosing a quality safety boot made in Portugal. This means that he may be buying a slightly more expensive boot, but with a guarantee of quality and assistance with any possible complaints. In the case of an Alpha® or EagleGrip® PU boot, the customer should be aware that he is choosing a higher quality product than PVC or rubber boots, especially in terms of comfort: these boots allow the foot to breathe, even during long working hours; they have excellent thermal insulation down to -70c; they are highly resistant and flexible. These boots can last up to 4 times longer than PVC boots.
E.E: Why do clients choose your products / solutions over other existing on the market?
G.G: For the know-how we have in the area of safety boots, for the quality of the product, and for our care for the consumer
E.E: What products / solutions are you going to launch next year?
G.G: For next year we plan to launch a new PU boot model and new leather shoe models.
