IMET, GLOBAL PARTNER FOR INNOVATION

IMET was founded in 1988 and is today, one of the pioneering companies in the development and manufacturing of industrial safety radio remote controls.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

IMET: Today, IMET can boast a very wide and articulated range of products, capable of suiting the majority of requirements inside the industry, the construction, agricultural sectors and many more. In addition to the standards models, which have been designed for the most traditional applications, such as construction cranes, bridge cranes, etc., the company places at the disposal of its customers a staff of technicians that is specialized in the design and creation of customized models of radio remote controls, according to specific requirements.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

IMET: Recently IMET has launched new models: AXT and TITAN.

AXT is the new radio remote control specially designed for forestry applications like winches and skidders, realized in accordance with UNI/EN 17067 Standard that regulates the safety requirements of radio remote controls for forestry machines. AXT is practical, small, intuitive and easy to use. Its control panel combines an optimal command protection with a perfect legibility, the ideal partner for professionals involved in forestry operations who need total safety, freedom of movement and autonomy during the job.

The M880 series expands with a new model for extremely complex applications: TITAN. TITAN provides the possibility to create infinitive personalization with its ergonomic design, robustness and 40% lower weight respect to the previous model G4L. Thanks to 110 commands among analog and digital, data feedback on LEDs or on 4,3” color display, TITAN redesigns the limits of a remote control.

IMET introduced recently a new radio remote control range designed and realized in accordance with ATEX and IECEx Directives for environments with potentially explosive atmospheres.

The product and the production process with Notified Quality System by Eurofins Product Testing Italy S.r.l. (NB 0477), EN ISO IEC 80079-34, respect the most recent and high-safety standards.

The new ATEX/IECEx version of KRON, ZEUS2 and THOR2 radio remote controls, models already with a consistent presence and proven functionality, allows now to operate in applications, where the operator may experiment a cutting-edge technology, together with the explosion proof rating.

Finally, but not least IMET presented the new 4,3″ color display for ZED, ZEUS2, THOR2 and TITAN transmitting units. The high brightness (800 nit) and the 65.000 reproducible colors, allow for a clear and sharp display, even in environments with intense sunlight. It is easily upgradable and programmable via USB and a dedicated software.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

IMET: The technology in our radio remote controls has evolved by following and anticipating the market needs and trends. The compliance to specific norms, the capability to operate in extreme conditions and to integrate our technology with automated machinery, have been some of the inputs to which we have given an answer by developing a new software platform and doing product restyling. Demanding customers will appreciate the solutions we can deliver for complex projects having high functional safety requirements. Practically, we offer an unlimited command capability, together with bidirectional radio transmission, graphic displays, automatic frequency management and the highest functional safety categories available, PLe/SIL3.

IMET product range includes pushbuttons for industrial and mobile applications, transmitters of small and compact dimensions until the largest model TITAN, hydrakit system, the transmitter MODIN that must be installed on DIN-rails inside electrical panel and all radio remote control range designed and realized in accordance to ATEX and IECEx Directives for environments with potentially explosive atmosphere.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

IMET: Today, IMET’s sale network covers 40 countries around the world and can boast a very wide and articulated range of products, capable of suiting the majority of requirements inside industrial automation, forestry & agriculture applications and recycling applications, etc.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

IMET: The market trends are more and more green. IMET radio remote control solutions are even more present in waste and recycling applications and we are proud to work for the environmental protection.

About that we will participate from 7th to 10th November 2023 to Ecomondo, the reference international event in Europe about technologies, services and industrial solutions in the green and circular economy sectors.

Before this event, you can find us also at Geofluid from 13th to 16th September 2023 and at GIS from 5th to 7th October 2023 in Piacenza.

And we end the year with SPS in 14th to 16th November 2023 in Nuremberg in Germany.

So, visit us and discover all our radio remote control solutions!

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

IMET: A complete range of transmitter can be tailored upon customer requirements. This requests are born the receivers with Profinet, Ethernet, CAN Bus features and, as mentioned at point 3, the new model TITAN suitable in the widest possible ways to the vast customization needs.

More over IMET launched a new Z-axis joystick, with the highest functional safety level in the market reaching as much as PL d/CAT 3. Its bidirectional rotating knob can control both ON-OFF and proportional outputs. Like all othet IMET designed and manufactured joysticks, also this model is based on the well-proven contactless optical sensing technology granting a particularly long operational life nad total immunity to magnetic fields.

And of course, all new explosion proof radio remote control range.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?

IMET: IMET will continue to be flexible and to respond to new technology challenges and customer needs with products that can go along and adapt themselves quickly. At the same time, IMET will keep its well-known customer oriented attitude, which has been the main company driver and the reason of success.

But we do not deny that the hardest stumbling block is the difficult economic and political context that we are going through.
