The advancing development of fuel cells as a sustainable energy source requires an efficient infrastructure that supports their production and use. Conveyor technology plays a decisive role in this context.

The role of conveyor technology in fuel cell production

Manufacturing fuel cell systems requires precise processes where each component must be handled carefully to ensure the performance and reliability of the final product. Efficient conveying technology not only optimizes the production speed, but also the quality of the fuel cell systems, which results in wider acceptance and application of this technology.

Applications from production to quality assurance 

Belt conveyors play a crucial role in various phases of fuel cell production. They reliably transport materials, such as bipolar plates and membrane electrode units, through the production process – from cutting to assembly of the individual components. Once production is complete, they transport the finished products to the packaging and shipping areas and also assist with quality control.

Requirements for conveyor technology in fuel cell production

The use of belt conveyors in fuel cell production requires certain safety precautions and specific characteristics of the conveyor technology. This includes proper alignment of the belt conveyors, speed adjustment to the production process, and regular maintenance to ensure smooth operation. The belt conveyors must also be modular and expandable with vacuum technology in order to meet the requirements of fuel cell technology.
