For many years, Additel has successfully developed automated pressure calibrators, digital pressure test gauges, digital pressure calibrators, pressure test and calibration pumps, and multifunction process calibrators. In recent years, the company has expanded the calibration equipment they have for sale with temperature calibration tools that help make metrology simpler. Coupled with their accredited calibration laboratory in Brea, CA USA the process calibration equipment, calibration services, and customer support are second to none.

Additel products are currently used in over 100 countries worldwide, with a global sales and support channel in place to provide our customers with the best possible support.

Interview with Kurt Zabriskie, Marketing Manager at Additel Corporation.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Kurt Zabriskie: Designing, manufacturing, and delivering the highest quality handheld test tools and portable calibrators for process and calibration industries.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

K.Z: Additel continues to develop new products that are focused on making metrology simple. Over the years, Additel has averaged 3-5 new product per year. Recently Additel has launched a new handheld platform which has allowed us to release a number of new products focused on maximum portability, accuracy and ease of use.  See models ADT282 (2-channel Temperature Readout), ADT27Ex (Intrinsically Safe Handheld Pressure Calibrator) and the ADT260Ex (Handheld Multichannel Reference Recorder) to name a few. Most recently, Additel has changed the game with a new portable automated pressure calibrator, our model ADT762, capable of generating pressures up to 10.000 psi (700 bar).

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

K.Z: Additel products cover a wide range of capabilities. With various product covering pressures from vacuum to 60,000 psi (4,200 bar) and temperature products capable of measuring temperatures from -200°C to 1,760°C and providing heat sources with ranges of -40°C to 1210°C, Additel has the pressure temperature disciplines very well covered.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

K.Z: The calibration market is very mature and stable. As trade continues around the world, many aspects of custody transfer and manufacturing in general depend on accurate measurement to ensure the fair trade and safety in many industries.  Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Pharmaceuticals, Third Party Calibration to name a few.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

K.Z: Market trends remain strong as industries continue to refine processes adding automation and checks and balances to help improve efficiencies and deliver better products and services. Furthermore, highly accurate and dependable calibration products are needed to support our global infrastructure, manufacturing, and trade.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

K.Z: Additel’s portable pressure generation has changed the way many companies perform calibrations and routine verifications.  With the ability to use just one device, in the palm of your hand, to generate, measure and calibration pressure sensors and transmitters, Additel has become well known in the industry as a leader and innovator.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

K.Z: 2022 has been very strong to date, we continue to see a growing need for support in all verticals of the calibration and measurement market. Maybe of the industries we serve are essential and require a steady stream of innovating products coupled with superior support and service. We anticipate that the calibration industry will be stable and continue to grow at a very healthy pace as the world around us continues to develop new and exciting technologies in nearly every segment of our manufacturing and engineering.
