INTERVIEW WITH AIRCO SYSTEMS

AIRCO Systems GmbH started as a compressed air dealer in 1994. Being energy-saving and environmentally friendly was already a main thought of AIRCO. In 2006, the company started the development of their products for onsite nitrogen generation with a focus on laser cutting applications. Today, AIRCO can offer a wide range of products for various applications. Their customers appreciate the expertise, the quality of products that the company manufactures in their factory in Frankfurt am Main, and AIRCO’s first-class service.

Starting from the first contact, the company stays in touch with customers and helps them to find the perfect solution for their needs. AIRCO makes sure that installation and commissioning run smoothly, and their service team helps with service and maintenance 24 hours a day. AIRCO’s ultimate goal is to help customers to become more efficient and effective.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

AIRCO: Our main focus still is laser cutting applications. Our systems are compatible with all lasers manufacturers and our sales team tailors our solutions to the customer’s needs. With our exclusive partner Bystronic we can offer our customers complete solutions for their manufacturing processes, all from one supplier. Bystronic offers our complete product lineup as well. Besides laser cutting we offer solutions for all kinds of applications (Sience, Research, Medicine…) where nitrogen or compressed air is needed.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

AIRCO: Our products are very energy-efficient and offer high output with a very compact design. All products are assembled on platforms for easy transportation and installation. For commissioning we just have to connect electricity and pipes for inlet and outlet – a plug-and-play solution. We help our customers to reduce their carbon footprint and their cost dramatically. Our intelligent control system can combine energy-efficiency with solar power. This allows our customers to produce their nitrogen when excess solar power is available. The nitrogen in stored in bundles and is available when the customer wants to cut on his laser – everything happens automatically.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

AIRCO: We offer nitrogen generation solutions from 15 to 100 cubic meters per hour on our skid platform, higher demands can also be covered with individual configurations. We also offer solutions for shop air cutting, AIRCO MIXGAS to optimize the cutting process, our N2 bundles to store nitrogen and our course a wide range of compressed air products.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

AIRCO: The trend to become independent from suppliers continues and has been reinforced by the pandemic in the last two years. Businesses want to be in control of their supply chain and not the other way around. Another strong development is the reduction of carbon emission. Here in Germany, for example, products that help companies to reduce their carbon-footprint are funded by the government. Another great benefit for our customers, because they can benefit from that funding with our products.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

AIRCO: Infinit AIRCO Mixgas is our latest innovation and has already been awarded for its innovation with the Blechexpo Award 2021. This gas mixer mixes nitrogen and oxygen to optimize the cutting processes. The combination of mixgas and fiber technology allows faster cutting, a more robust cutting process even with various material qualities and better cutting results. Especially due to reduced cutting burr for medium to thicker material (25 – 66 %).

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active and what estimations do you have for 2022?

AIRCO: AIRCO has been developing and researching itself for more than 27 years in many fields, in order to always find the best and most effective solution for its customers and being “up to date”. And we will continue in 2022. We are now also going our own way in the area of control technology. By founding AIRCO eSystems, which focuses on industrial controls tailored specifically for our customers.

Modern technology is developing so fast and this is the reason why we believe it is essential to make control systems intelligent as well, in order to optimize workflows and processes and make them even more efficient and effective. This is what we stand by and what makes us so unique.
