Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Aksa: Aksa Power Generation manufactures gasoline, diesel, natural gas and marine generator sets within range between 1 kVA to 3.125 kVA as well as lighting towers and generator hardware with 3 manufacturing facilities in Istanbul-Turkey, Changzhou-China, Louisiana-USA; and a trade center in Rotterdam-The Netherlands. Aksa has become a leader and pioneer within the sector.
In 2020, we completed a lot of significant reference projects that made a difference in the worldwide. We took part in many global projects as well. From hospital projects to metro stations and airport projects in Europe, telecom projects, airports and hotel projects in Africa, Data center projects in Asia Pacific, Universities and hospital projects in Middle East. In addition, we became the first manufacturer company to start e-commerce sales in Turkey generator market. Currently, home standby portable generators are sold on shopaksa.com.tr. E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
Aksa: We know that with digitalization, data centers and accordingly Data Center Power Systems gain importance and we are expecting demands will increase rapidly . We believe that most important security measure in data centers is to provide uninterrupted electrical energy. In recent years, data centers have been growing with an increasing momentum. As businesses and people continue to need secure cloud and data storage, the demand for a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply will continue to increase. As Aksa Power Generation, we offer the most suitable and reliable solutions for the power needs in data centers with the generator options we offer.
As Aksa, we continue to produce special and reliable solutions for data centers with the first and only generator sets accepted by the Uptime Institute in Turkey. We have recently obtained compliance with the TIER III and TIER IV standards determined by the Uptime Institute for data centers, with 44 generator sets in the range of 550 kVA – 3,000 kVA. As a company, we will focus on data center studies in 2021, taking into account the increasing digital needs of the whole world.

The global generator market decrease by 30% in 2020 with the effect of Covid-19, but we accelerated the data center market and health sector investments in this process and grew by 20% in 2020.

Therefore, All countries have put regulations in order to prevent it and its rapidly increasing impacts. In energy sector, gas emission regulations are shaping the future of power industry and gas power becomes prominent day by day. Low carbon emission after combustion and automatized fuel feeding system (no need of manually feeding) is making gas generators reason of preference and a rising trend for power generation systems. With a wide variety of product range and 360 degrees of sales & after sales solutions offering world-wide, Aksa is commanding a place in gas generation power market ever increasingly.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
Aksa: We are strengthening our structure in the US and Chinese markets. Accordingly, we opened two new offices in the USA and one more in China. In these two countries, we aim to increase our sales points, which we call Aksa Power Center (APC), in 2021. At the same time, we opened an office in Kenya and a representative office in Senegal this year.
With the New Trade Center opened in the Netherlands recently, we further expanded our sphere of influence in Europe. In the purpose of increasing our market share in Europe, we intend to move our advanced domestic portable product sales network to Europe. Beside that, we are making critical recruitments in the field of marketing and expanding our expert staff worldwide.
We are opening a new factory in nearby Istanbul which will increase our production capacity approximately 3 times, in order to meet the increasing demand of emerging market. We will renovate our production line accordance with Industry 4.0 standards.
