INTERVIEW WITH ALKÈ

Alkè manufactures type-approved electric road vehicles used for transport, logistics and other multi-functional or special operations. Based in the North of Italy with over 25 years of experience and thousands of vehicles on the market, Alkè is a key player in the electric vehicle industry at international level and its products are aimed at the top end of the market in terms of quality and performance.

Alkè vehicles are currently sold in over 40 countries worldwide and cover all the continents. The company takes delight in its customers, which include big names in the industry, important organisations and exclusive locations. The Alkè R&D department collaborates with research projects at international level as a specialist in the automotive and electric mobility sector.

Interview with Lamberto Salvan, Business Development Manager at Alkè.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Lamberto Salvan: Target markets are: Public Sector (municipal services, waste collection services, hospitals, etc.), Industry and Commerce (industrial plants, logistical centres, home delivery services, etc.), Tourism sector (resorts, residences and hotels, camp sites, beaches, etc.), Agriculture sector (farmhouses, riding schools, vineyards, etc.), Explosion-proof (oil plants, tunnels, mines, etc.).

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

L.S: We are in the pilot project phase with an innovative electric commercial vehicle with hydrogen range extender. We aim for its industrialisation between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

L.S: The range of Alkè electric vehicles is very wide. It has more than 100 possible configurations. They are available with 4 different load bed lengths and 2- or 4-seat cabs. They are road-legal, but also perform well off-road.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

L.S: The market is very active with new players emerging and big OEMs converting their endothermic range to electric and hybrid.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

L.S: The market is growing strongly, I am referring to the professional segment (commercial vehicles), but this is noticeable throughout the electrics sector.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

L.S: Currently our products have full integration with cloud platform for diagnostics, fleet manage, remote monitoring. This allows you to have a 360° overview of your vehicles in real time, to optimise daily operations and reduce costs. We are integrating hydrogen solutions to increase autonomy.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

L.S: For 2023, we plan to further increase sales and activate key projects especially in Europe and the Middle East.
