INTERVIEW WITH ALUGHA

alugha is a cloud-based video platform on which it is possible to combine audio tracks in different languages in one video and to change them like on a DVD. Furthermore, the videos can be subtitled and finally translated with the help of AI. However, it is also possible to record and translate videos yourself using dubbr.

There isn’t other company which offers the whole toolkit that allows to create a multilingual video.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

ALUGHA: alugha is headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, but can be applied anywhere at any time. alugha’s users work all over the world, in Europe, the USA and in Arabic-speaking countries.

Generally, the alugha-toolkit is used in all sectors, in example, in the political field, in educational or marketing contexts, as well as in healthcare and HR areas.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

ALUGHA: The alugha team in Mannheim is constantly working on training and further developing the AI. In the meantime, our AI can colour films in addition to translation and transcription. Furthermore, alugha is working on voicecloning, emotioncloning and real-time translation.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

ALUGHA: alugha offers a toolkit by means of which one can create a multilingual video. It included automatic transcription and subtitling, as well as translation by AI and text-to-speech-features or dubbing on one’s own. Furthermore, alugha offers video-encoding and -hosting.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

ALUGHA: The market has now recognized the importance of multilingualism. As video becomes more and more important in communication, video translation is also becoming more and more important. In this way, it is possible to expand one’s target groups. This applies not only to the marketing sector, but also to education, political sectors and many more.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

ALUGHA: The future trends are voicecloning and real-time translations, so that all language barriers are completely overcome. This also applies to less commonly spoken languages. However, this trend could also develop in an unethical direction. Deepfakes are already circulating on the internet.

For speakers of rarely spoken languages, this can be an opportunity against the extinction of the language, but it can also take on undesirable traits, as some fear.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

ALUGHA: alugha is so innovative because a process that otherwise requires many tools is combined in one cloud-based tool. The complete workflow is covered online without the need for apps or hardware. It also allows people all over the world to collaborate on a video.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2022?

ALUGHA: alugha will be at a few more interesting trade fairs in 2022. In addition, the AI will be further trained and optimized. Furthermore, we will make the name alugha known and bring it into the media.

A personal concern of our CEO Bernd Korz is to make education accessible to people all over the world free of charge. For this reason, we are constantly improving our non-profit project alucation and now have over 5000 educational videos on the platform. Now we want to spread this valuable content for all who need it.
