Since the company was founded in 2007, approximately 200 employees have been producing trend-setting solutions for the processing of green waste, stem and waste wood, plastics and industrial waste, scrap metal as well as construction waste and minerals on the grounds of the company in Leimbach, Thuringia.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
ARJES: We are specialized in developing and manufacturing innovative, slow-speed shredders. To best solve the challenge of different applications, synchronous and nearly asynchronous drives are a necessity. The shaft configuration can be adapted to the individual customer task. And, changing shafts is easy and fast with our revolutionary quick-change cassette system. Our shafts are made from highly durable steel with special surface protection. The applications for our products are as versatile as the challenges for our industry.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
ARJES: The new EKOMAXX product line will replace the VZ 750 D/DK and VZ 850 D/DK series pre-shredders in 2021. The main reasons for this decision were technological advances that could not be further implemented in the design of these machines, as they would be too complex or too expensive. I In the ARJES intermediate class, the concept of economic sustainability is the main focus in the development. The goal of ARJES is clearly defined: “To achieve an ideal cost-efficiency ratio for the maximum benefit of our customers and users”. The EKOMAXX 800 will be equipped with all the advantages that are already standard with the IMPAKTOR and TITAN. Those would be the standard track system, the revolutionary quick exchange system for shafts, an innovative SCU control system and a paddle shaft design that guarantees the customer long operating times and durability. The main areas of application are in the processing of green waste, waste wood and root wood, as well as in the treatment of household, commercial and bulky waste. The shredding of old tyres, paper and cardboard are not a problem also with this machine.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
ARJES: IMPAKTOR – Compact Class:
In the IMPAKTOR class, mainly contractors in the construction and demolition industry will find an extremely compact, flexible and robust shredder with the best price-performance ratio in the industry. But plant operators who want to expand their operating facilities with a compact shredder for processing green waste, wood or commercial waste are also in the right place in this segment.
EKOMAXX – Intermediate Class:
In the EKOMAXX class, the concept of economic sustainability is the main focus of machine development. ARJES’ goal is clearly defined: “Optimum cost-benefit ratio for the maximum benefit of our customers and users”, who are mainly found in composting and wood processing companies as well as in the processing of domestic and commercial waste.
TITAN – Heavy-Duty Class
In the TITAN class, it’s all about the heaviest chunks and the most demanding applications. Where many of our competitors throw in the towel, we seek the challenge and convince with a competitively superior range of applications. Especially companies, which have to process an enormous amount of waste products every day, are at home in this price class.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
ARJES: The year 2020/2021 probably turned out quite differently than expected for the recycling industry as a whole. Important bases for the exchange of information with potential interested parties could not be established due to COVID-19. Business trips as well as personal discussions with customers had to be limited or took place via video conferences. But this year also made it clear to us – we are operating in the right industry. Thomas Hayn, Managing Director of ARJES GmbH, already expressed his confidence in all national and international ARJES sales partners in September: “Our philosophy of being the manufacturer of shredding machines with the best price-performance ratio and the widest range of applications on the market has paid off, especially in 2020.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
ARJES: The mobile double-shaft shredder IMPAKTOR 250 evo has gained international recognition since its launch and is now an absolute must-have for small to medium-sized companies within the demolition and processing industry. The extremely flexible and robust shredder features a unique combination of track system and hook lift version, a revolutionary shaft quick-change system, an innovative SCU control and a shaft design that expands the machine’s range of applications many times over. In addition to numerous applications for construction and demolition waste, the mobile shredder is also suitable for processing railway sleepers, rootstocks, old and trunk wood, tyres, household and commercial waste and many other applications.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
ARJES: We will continue to consistently pursue out strategy in the future and adapt the orientation of the entire product portfolio to the new challenges and requirements of the recycling market. ARJES GmbH will present its strategic reorientation and divide its double-shaft shredders into three basic product lines: IMPAKTOR – compact class, EKOMAXX – intermediate class, TITAN –heavy-duty class
