ATM Lighting is a polish industrial lighting producer specialized in light fixtures dedicated to heavy duty working conditions. The headquarter is located in the beautiful city of Gdansk on southern Baltic coast. This region has a great logistical potential with two big port terminals in Gdansk and Gdynia.
Their ultra-durable products have been designed for various kinds of working conditions. Explosion hazard environments as flammable gas or liquid mixed with air, flammable dusts, extremely low and high temperatures, vibrations, chemical aggressive environments are just some challenges faced everyday by ATM’s light fittings.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
ATM Lighting: One of the most perspective markets for the company is mining and energy industry. Refineries, LNG terminals, petrochemical plants, digging platforms and fuel tanks are some of the applications for the company’s products. All the light fixtures from EX series are ATEX certified. Middle East countries as Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or United Arab Emirates are one of the biggest recipients of our explosionproof products. The high quality has been appreciated.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
ATM Lighting: Our newest series of products is tunnel lighting (TNL). In our offer you can find a very efficient TNL440LED floodlights for illuminating the road or wide range of emergency lighting like evacuation luminaires with pictogram and the beacon light which is allows to find the evacuation exit even in a heavy smoke. Nowadays in Poland there are couple of tunnel projects being under the construction. Last year we have delivered our light fixtures to the longest tunnel in Poland on the way from Kraków to Zakopane. This year there are some other tunnel projects in Poland that we will deliver our products to.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
ATM Lighting: Today there are 5 series of our products: explosionproof for petroleum and gas industry, vandal-proof for railway facilities and passageways, anti-ligature lighting for prisons and arrests, industrial for manufactures and warehouses, lighting for car tunnels. In every case, our light fittings have been designed considering the extremely hard-working conditions. The vandal-proof light fittings having robust construction tested with impact energy 150J (IK11+) and special security screws which prevent the unauthorized access. The vandal-proof light fittings have evolved into the other group of anti-ligature light fittings which are dedicated to custodial and mental health facilities. The wide range of industrial light fittings dedicates for extremely high and low temperatures or chemical aggressive environment.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
ATM Lighting: Last year we have been awarded the Export Leader with Pomeranian Griffin Prize among micro and small business in our region. Around the half of our turnover is generated on the export market, but we want to make it much more. Our high-quality products meet the worldwide high standards, so now we would like to expand on the other markets. We stay in touch with some companies operating in remote regions like Southeast Asia and Latin America. First shipments have been delivered, but we hope for much more.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
ATM Lighting: These days, the high-quality components like LED module or batteries have their lifetime up to tens of thousands of hours, which is almost 8 years of constant work 24/7. It is why we decided to conduct further development works on housings. Together with Rzeszow University od Technology we have carried out the research and development works consisting in modification of powder paint in the direction of giving them anti-static properties, increasing the hydrophobicity of coatings and resistance to scratches. The recipe was reported to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and received a patent marked with the number P.435168. Our own powder paint allows to keep the light fittings clean; the radiators can work properly and the light fittings do not overheat. As a result, intervals between inspections can be extended and precious users’ time and money can be saved. This stands in line with our user-friendly policy.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
ATM Lighting: In our assortment you can also find some light fittings with aluminum housing. These ones are recently invented and still under development. The aesthetic design of aluminum light fitting you can find in EXL, EXF and INS series of products. It has been implemented not only to the linear light fixtures but also to the floodlights. Nowadays we are under the certification for industrial floodlight with aluminum housing. This solution has a lot of advantages like less weight and better heat radiation outside of the housing.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
ATM Lighting: We hope this year will be better than the previous ones. The sales data from two months of the year are very promising. The pandemic times was a difficult situation for us, but at the same time we were building our new headquarters and factory. Last year we moved in. The factory has been equipped with fully automatized powder paint shop, laser cutter with a crane for metal sheets. All the investments in modern machinery have streamlined the production process. Thanks to that, now when the economy is returning to its pre-pandemic state, we are ready for the new challenges.
