Blauhoff is a company with multiple years of experience in high end batteries for power storage and hybrid inverters. The company is situated in Druten with customers all over Europe but mostly in BeNeLux and Germany. Their customers are mostly residentials and electricians. Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company? BLAUHOFF: Main activities of Blauhoff are defined as following: Providing the right power storage solution for the right person with short delivery times due to having most of our products in stock. Knowledge about our products. With our new exhibition truck we can give demonstrations about how our system works and how to install the storage systems. Service for our customers by advising on the right solution. Besides delivering and selling our products we also provide the option of installing the products. We recognised that there are a lot of Dutch electricians that are to busy for installation. We adapted and now we have two different colleagues that are capable of installing the products. E.E: What’s the news about new products? BLAUHOFF: There are quite some changes around storing your own power. We often get the question: ‘’are those batteries flammable?’’ The batteries we sell are LiFePO4 batteries. These batteries are safe to use in your house, apartment or company to store your energy. Currently the hybrid inverters are being reprogrammed to become more and more smart and connectable to your phone. At this moment you can put the settings of the inverter on the screen of the inverter but not on your phone. This will change in the near future and we are looking forward to it! Most of the new products are hard to deliver and a lot of companies have problems with delivering the batteries and inverters, except Blauhoff 😉 E.E: What are the ranges of products? BLAUHOFF: We do everything after solar panels or after your own power supply. Our product range is starting from hybrid inverters to batteries. The capable capacity is almost unlimited. For instance, we deliver one module (3,56 kWh) but also containers with a capacity of 150 kWh. If you have the request, we have the solution or we will create the solution! E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active? BLAUHOFF: The market for home storage batteries is new and developing. The number of requests in combination with the scarcity of the products make this a really interesting market. Also looking to the energy transition of the Western world from fossil fuels to renewable energy will create more opportunities for us as Blauhoff. We are proud to contribute to making energy more sustainable. The stage of our company is also changing. We have grown more than 500% in one year and every day we are helping new customers. E.E: What can you tell us about market trends? BLAUHOFF: The market is growing and al lot of people are getting interested in our products. The energy grid is getting overfilled between 11 and 15 in the summertime due to all the solar panels. With a battery system you can do peaks having and reducing the amount of electricity on the grid. Also, in the evening when everyone is coming home from work, the net is getting drained and with all the electric vehicles this will only become more. A different market trend is that we see in a lot of city’s that you need to have a battery in your house if you have solar panels due to the limited capacity of the grid. In combination with a dynamic energy contract, you can fill your batteries on a moment when the energy is cheap (for example between 02.00 and 04.00 in the night). If you can store up to 24 hours of energy you can have always the cheapest energy available. This will even eliminate the benefit of solar panels. The netting function with solar panels is slowly reduced and we expect that this will stop in the near future. Result: you need to store your own power! Due to the high demand on power, our grid will also fail more often. Batteries will become your emergency supplier. E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed? BLAUHOFF: The most innovative product in our portfolio is the hybrid inverter. The inverters we have are capable of connecting to every battery. In combination with the function of automatically charging the batteries when the market price is low will become a game changer in the market. E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023? BLAUHOFF: Our estimation in the market of 2023/2024 will be that we need to have a more sustainable energy which can be stored with batteries. The market will grow and there is a big possibility that the government will promote the idea of storing your own power.
