INTERVIEW WITH CARGOCLIPS

Under the umbrella of Autocom GmbH, the CargoClips product group started vehicle conversions 5 years ago and invented and patented the CargoClips system for this purpose in order to give vehicles the opportunity to use them individually.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

CargoClips: The conversion of vans such as a MAN TGE, Mercedes Sprinter, Fiat Ducato…with the clip wall so that they can be individually set up in connection with the camper or workshop modules. In addition, we are a full-service provider for the conversion of vans, with regard to insulation, windows, heating, awnings…

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

CargoClips: We have developed a unique roof tent, we call it the LOFT. It closes and opens automatically at the push of a button, has stable and above all insulated walls and thus creates a full second room with a lying area of 150×200 cm. The LOFT can be accessed from inside the vehicle via a sliding hatch from the yacht building.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

CargoClips: Vehicle conversion with all components. Lift kits, off-road, lithium battery systems, roof and side windows, modular construction for camping and workshops, wall and ceiling paneling with the clip wall and the LOFT

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

CargoClips: 90% of the time we build vehicles that are used in the camper sector. This was the absolute boom market in recent years. Customers appreciate the opportunity to design their leisure vehicle individually according to their wishes

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

CargoClips: The overheated camper market will cool down a bit. But the desire to travel individually with a vehicle that looks like a van and is not immediately recognizable as a mobile home and that is also as self-sufficient as possible without having to go to a campsite is still very much in vogue.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

CargoClips: Without sounding arrogant, our products are currently the most innovative products on the market due to the individual design of the interior, the dual use for work and leisure and the LOFT.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

CargoClips: 2022 will be a brutally difficult year in terms of parts supply and price development. Vehicles and materials such as wood, aluminium, cables, accessories are difficult to obtain and then only with a significant price premium. The art is to supply the production as well as to pass on the prices to the customers within a reasonable framework. Without blocking the competitive opportunities here and working economically.
