Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Castro Lighting: The handling of brass is the history and foundation of Castro Lighting, being its responsibility to inspire and empower future generations to keep the tradition alive. Creative brass crafting is an embodiment of the artists’ vision, brought to life by their effort and expertise. Castro Lighting production takes place in its factories in Portugal, where the best quality handmade lighting solutions are created. The manufacturing process is supervised by experienced professionals who are constantly looking for new and original techniques and approaches.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
Castro Lighting: We just launched a full range of brand-new products at the annual lighting event in Milan – Euroluce 2023. This culminated in a year of research work and the development of prototypes to be ready for a commercial release. The feedback has been really good, so we are now busy delivering the orders to our clients. Regarding the new products, we launched several collections that were inspired by organic nature and also by outer space that is above us – stars, planets, and the moon in a modernized and simplified concept. As with all Castro Lighting creations, our products always stand out due to their gold finish, the heavy use of crystals, and the quality and engineering “inside” each light.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
Castro Lighting: Throughout the years, while gathering the desirable experience, Castro Lighting took advantage of its proficiency in brasswork production. This allowed the development of more up-to-date, bold, and fresh forms in design. While classic style and influences were the foundation of the brand, a new approach grew within.
The latest collections rejoice with audacity and strong statements. The use of noble materials and selected finishes allied with a youthful and simpler approach to design and turned into a new signature for the brand. A claim of elegance and sophistication.
Our goal when designing a new product is to innovate in different fields. Aesthetically but also technically, with a well-defined purpose in mind.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
Castro Lighting: Despite of 2023 changes that Europe is facing, we hold good expectations for 2023, and the forecasts are optimistic. Undoubtedly, it is crucial to stay attuned to market shifts, carefully analyze them, and respond accordingly. Nevertheless, there are also instances where it becomes essential to take risks by introducing innovative products and initiatives.
