CMB is a company that designs, manufactures and sells automatic packaging machinery for medium and large products, whose main sector is wood and furniture in general, although it is present in many other industrial sectors.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
CMB: According to the specific needs of each client, we begin with the design of the product that best suits what you need to proceed with its commercialization. Once the sale process has been formalized, the machine is manufactured and later its delivery, installation and start-up. To complete the process, we also take care of providing the corresponding after-sales service to our customers.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
CMB: The adaptation of our machines to work with new materials that are safer and more respectful with the environment.
New devices to be incorporated into our machines to gain production capacity without neglecting safety.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
CMB: We work on two general lines: hot packaging and cool packaging.
Hot packaging is that which uses heat tunnels to shrink the film that covers the products to be packed. They are high-production machines that require a significant supply of electrical energy, although this type of machine is increasingly optimized in terms of consumption.
Cool packaging hardly requires significant energy consumption, it uses very economical films that can also be combined with other layers, such as bubble film, leaving the products packed quickly and with high protection for transport.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
CMB: At this time and due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID situation, all our markets are waiting for the events that will happen although we begin to notice a certain movement again.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
CMB: We are going towards packaging systems that allow us to minimize our carbon footprints, whatever the sector, with ecological, recyclable materials and some even biodegradable accompanied by efficient energy consumption. We all already care about the environment and our obligation to protect it.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
CMB: Without a doubt, our cool packaging machines with combined films of stretch polyethylene, bubble polyethylene and now also with Kraft paper.
All the polyethylene films that our machines use are ecological and totally recyclable. But we cannot forget our shrink-wrap machines for packaging doors crosswise. These types of machines are the most productive machines on the market, generating high profitability for our customers in a very short time.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
CMB: Who can risk giving figures now? What I can say is that, I do not know at what rate, but we will continue to grow as there is more and more demand for our machines and the need to pack products correctly and efficiently.
