Cojali S. L. is a Spanish multinational manufacturer of components, diagnostics and telematics solutions with remote diagnostics for commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural equipment, material handling equipment and vessels based on Campo de Criptana, Spain.

Interview with César Morales, Senior Sales Manager – East Europe and Balkans at Cojali Parts & Jaltest Solutions.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

César Morales: Cojali Parts was established as the first activity of Cojali S. L. more than three decades ago, and its activity is based on the design, development and manufacture of components and technology for the industrial automotive sector. Currently, its catalogue has more than 15,000 references of products, thanks to its unstoppable growth and evolution.

Jaltest Solutions is the division of Cojali S. L. focused on the development of technological solutions with high added value that is committed to the digitalization of workshops, fleets and service companies, as well as to the specialization of the industrial automotive sector in electronics. Among Jaltest solutions, we can highlight: multi-brand and multi-system diagnostics, digitalization for agricultural equipment, professional equipment for workshops, telematics, training and solutions for Defence.

OEM Solutions by Cojali offers the manufacturer the wide expertise gained during 30 years of company experience in the development of software and hardware solutions to build as whole innovative products in a customised way.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

C.M: The main innovation of our products is the technology included.

We keep an investment of 6% in R+D, which allows us to have cutting-edge technology and highly qualified personnel focused on the market.

Regarding innovations, as for Cojali Parts, we must underline the monthly enlargement of our product portfolio, increasingly covering commercial vehicle systems and specializing in those components that include electronics.

In relation to Jaltest Solutions, we are committed to add new functionalities every 3 months, both to the diagnostics and the telematics tool.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

C.M: Cojali Parts, our components brand.

  • Jaltest Diagnostics, our diagnostics tool for commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural equipment, material handling equipment and vessels. 
  • Jaltest Telematics, our fleet management tool with multi-brand remote diagnostics.
  • Jaltest Tools, our brand of professional equipment for workshops.
  • Jaltest University, our training area for sector professionals.
  • Jaltest Isobus Control, our innovative solution for the digitalisation of agricultural equipment.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

C.M: For Cojali Parts, we have a very mature market that knows the product, and it is very stable. Of course, not all countries have the same needs, neither do they demand the same type of product, but our wide portfolio enables us to adapt.

For Jaltest Solutions, it is more complex. They are technological solutions that require more maturity and adaptation. Jaltest Diagnostics is the most mature product and the market is responding very well… The use of diagnostics tools is becoming more common in order to solve problems of vehicles increasingly complex and including more electronics, which justifies our expansion in countries with commercial vehicle fleets in the last 15 years.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

C.M: The market is becoming more complex for several reasons: There is much more information available than it used to be, it is very easy to find solutions and products, and globalization has erased boundaries for products to reach any place.

This forces Cojali to offer the best products, services and assistance of the market, to be always open for new technologies that are arising and to have a critical mind in order to improve.

Undoubtedly, the trend goes in the direction of digitalization, speed and interconnectivity.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

C.M: The most innovative product is Jaltest Telematics without a doubt, not only because of the telematics solution itself, but for the integration of advanced remote diagnostics and options of predictive maintenance, which goes along with the trends of the market aforementioned.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

C.M: It is a year with high expectations for the commercial vehicle sector. Online business is on the rise and is becoming more used day by day, so the transit of goods is also rising.

Besides, since there have been less registrations of commercial vehicles in these last years, the vehicle fleet is in an important level of maturity, therefore arising opportunities in the aftermarket sector for Cojali Parts and in the repair sector for Jaltest Solutions.

Certainly, it will be a good year accompanied by new product releases and the development of new solutions servicing commercial vehicles.
