Interview with Antonietta Modano, Sales Export Manager at COSBEN.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Antonietta Modano: We mainly export to the USA and Canada, but we are also present in Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
A.M: COSBEN Technical Office strives every day in order to always be at the forefront, presenting innovative equipment and proposing the right solution for every type of job on every occasion. Currently the technicians are working on both our Tire Handlers, to meet more and more customer needs in terms of tire handling; and on the whole forestry range that we would like to expand.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
A.M: We work more with earthmoving, but we are also present in the fields of agriculture, mining and forestry.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
A.M: We are present and well established with the presence of official dealers in the markets described above.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
A.M: Expectations for this last quarter of 2022 are strongly conditioned by the economic consequences of the conflict in Ukraine which exacerbates the increases in energy prices and raw materials. Compared to 2021, the general Italian performance, in our opinion, was better than that we have seen in the main EU countries, given that in France and Germany the volumes are still about 10 points lower than pre-pandemic levels, yes read about some news. In 2021 we saw a strong recovery due not only to an improvement in domestic demand, but also to a marked recovery in exports, which grew a lot in 2020. 2022, on the other hand, was very fluctuating, let’s say that it is difficult to foresee and have a picture clear of the future given the severe crisis we are going through.
