Cryospain is a family-owned company based in Madrid, Spain and specialized in engineering and manufacturing of infrastructure for the cryogenic industry.

The company has 20 years of operation in the market.

Interview with Pierre Meurgey, Sales and Marketing Director at Cryospain.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Pierre Meurgey: The company has 4 business lines:

  • Storage tanks
  • Piping
  • Tailor-made solutions
  • Service & after sales

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

P.M: We are currently developing several new technologies to attend the future LH2 market which is coming in Europe.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

P.M: Our developments are related with all our business lines.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

P.M: Our historical market (industrial gases such as LIN/LOX/LAR) is very mature and stable whereas other markets such as LNG, LH2 and LHe are growing but are more unstable.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

P.M: Industrial gases are driven mainly by the big investments in the semi-conductor industry and new industrial basin for hydrogen (LIN for Ammonia and LOX for electrolyzers)

Other markets such as LH2, LNG and LHe are driven by the public investment or public politics on energy.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

P.M: We are marketing small to mid-scale LNG projects, Big Science projects for LHe and liquid hydrogen for heavy vehicles application.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2022?

P.M: Our 2022 will be a reasonably good year for the sales and turnover but the company profit is decreasing due to the problems related with the increase of material, freight and manpower cost.
