Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
DESMASA: Our clients are mainly large companies in the tire and automotive sector, it is for these two sectors that we have made the largest amount of machinery. However, we also have developed solutions for companies in the food and drink or pharmaceutical industries. We have a large expertise in it.
Currently there are more and more small and medium-sized companies that want to automate their production processes. So, they look for companies like ours for their applications as we can make them completely customized and adjusting to the specific needs of each client.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
DESMASA: Desmasa presents its new MCR equipment, Mobile Collaborative Robot, a multipurpose unit prepared to work together with the operator. Perfect for a multitude of applications within a production plant.
Also, we have patented some of our tire industry application.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
DESMASA: Our product lines are mainly divided into robotic cells focused on our waterjet machines distributed throughout the world, special machinery, standardized products, tire industry and automotive machines, cobots and high-pressure pumps.
As specialist in customized development, DESMASA offer made-to-order three-dimensional cutting cells, using a wide range of systems and technologies that can be adapted to the needs of each client.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
DESMASA: Currently all markets are beginning to recover after the COVID19 crisis. Markets such as food or automotive, with electric cars, are in constantly evolution.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
DESMASA: We have gone through a difficult year, since investments in machinery have been reduced considerably, however, today more companies have realized the importance of automation and digitization in the industry as key factors for economic growth.
Collaborative robots have become a safe bet in many production lines thanks to their ability to work with operators. The installation of robots in factories has increased, it is a trend that continues to rise especially in the automotive sector where we work very actively.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
DESMASA: All our solutions are designed with innovation and improvement in our clients’ production processes in mind.
Our MCR equipment combines collaborative robots, AGVs and artificial vision, applications that are currently at the forefront of innovation in industrial automation.
We have several patents within the tire sector that allow us to fully automate tire manufacturing processes. These patents have been the result of an exhaustive work by our engineering department.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
DESMASA: Last year due to the crisis caused by COVID-19, turnover was reduced considerably but this year the forecast is that it will recover to levels before the pandemic, mainly supported by the sale of our robotic solutions and our projects in the automotive sector, robotic cells and our patented solutions in the tire sector. We are having many inquiries; however, it is noted that the market has been affected by the shortage of raw materials and the increase in prices.
