DEWETRON is an Austrian manufacturer of highly intuitive test & measurement systems designed to make the world more predictable, efficient and safe. Worldwide, customers in the sectors aerospace & defense, energy & power analysis, manufacturing & industrial and automotive trust in the preciseness and reliability of DEWETRON’s systems.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

DEWETRON: One of our strengths is to provide our customers with high precision and modular expandable test & measurement systems. This allows us to fulfill application-specific requirements with respect to the chassis, signal conditioning, software features and accessories.

The team of our Customer Care Center responsibly handles our customer’s trainings, calibration or maintenance of our durable systems.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

DEWETRON: Our newest product is our data recorder called PU[REC]. It enables simple and pure data recording and combines reliability, convenience and flexibility in one device. The rugged housing and portable design make it the ideal companion for field tests in rough environments.

It is up to the customer whether a maximum sampling rate of 50 or 200 kS/s is required for the 16 analog input channels. With Modular Smart Interfaces (MSI) for the analog channels, the signal of almost any analog sensor can be acquired. The device includes digital I/O channels and counters. In addition, it can be supplemented with an optional CAN interface and quasi-static channel expansion modules for isolated low-speed inputs for voltage, current, temperature or resistance.

DEWETRON’s measurement software OXYGEN is pre-installed and makes the PU[REC] complete. The software can be operated intuitively via touchscreen and enables comprehensive data recording as well as FFT analysis, visualization, post-processing, trigger options and much more.

Our data acquisition software OXYGEN is one of the products we constantly improve and develop. Recently we launched the new version OXYGEN 5.5. With the new version, it is, among other features, possible to load and synchronize external videos to the sensor data, adjust the playback speed and take advantage of new export formats. Especially for electrical engineers dealing with the design of inverters, the d/Q-analysis plugin will be a huge benefit.

We are also proud to announce two new modules for our TRION3-Series. The TRION3-AOUT-8-FR-FGEN and TRION3-1820-MULTI-AOUT-8 provide analog output channels from -10 V to +10 V or -30 mA to +30 mA with different output modes for signal conditioning, signal generation, data file replay and many more.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

DEWETRON: Beside the already mentioned PU[REC], which is an all-in-one data recorder, we produce and offer measurement systems that are immediately ready for use while also being quickly customizable to the unique needs of the test environment. Our highspeed DEWE3-series include highly accurate, mixed signal power analyzers, portable all-in-one systems, mainframes for test benches or racks and front-ends as expansion for distributed measurements.

All our measurement systems are equipped with DEWETRON modules suitable for a wide range of sensors, like strain gauges, accelerometers, force sensors, pressure, load and flow sensors, thermocouples, as well as voltages and currents. Our TRION- and TRION3-series modules allow you to measure a lot of different input types. Voltage, current, IEPE, bridge, potentiometer, RTD, CAN and GPS are just some examples.

Our measurement software OXYGEN is the perfect completion to our hardware. It is the most intuitive and easy-to-use software in the data acquisition sector and designed to be operated via touchscreen or classic mouse and keyboard. By making use of additional license options or plugins it is easily expandable to our customer’s needs.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

DEWETRON: Our customers are mainly operating in R&D in the sectors aerospace & defense, energy & power analysis, manufacturing & industrial and automotive. When splitting our market in regions, our core markets are USA, China, Germany and Austria. In those countries, we own subsidiaries and sell our products through direct sales. In other countries, such as Netherlands, France, India, Korea and Australia we work with a closely related and strong partner network.

On the global market for data acquisition and analysis, there is a continuously growing emphasis on data monitoring to prevent expensive downtimes and guarantee uninterrupted working capabilities.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

DEWETRON: Strong drivers for the data acquisition sector are the increased investments for the development of electrical vehicles, the extended use of renewable energies and the advancement in industrial automation. Especially North America, Europe and the Asian Pacific area expect growth rates between 7 to 10 % in the test and measurement industry.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

DEWETRON: The technology sector of test and measurement is a very pacing one. We not only have to follow the latest technological trends but also to understand the customer needs to fulfil current and future market developments. Our flexible and reliably data recorder PU[REC] is the most recent product innovation resulting out of collecting market knowledge and customer needs. It is a standardized product with only limited expansion possibilities to adapt it to individual measurement tasks. Besides being reliable and precise, it is portable and rugged and therefore the ideal system for field tests in harsh environments.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

DEWETRON: By focusing on online marketing activities and internal projects to increase the user experience, we have been able to make the most out of the COVID-year 2020. For 2021, we have already planned some big customer projects in Germany, USA, China and India. As we had a very successful 2020 in our subsidiary in China, we expect to increase the export rate for the Chinese market. Mentioning the sectors we are operating in, we still focus on serving the energy & power sector as this is a very important future investment for us. Driven by the economic stimulus package, especially in our core regions, we expect a stable constantly growing business in 2021.
