INTERVIEW WITH DINITECH. THE BUSINESS PLANS FOR 2023

Founded in 2012, DiniTech has been able to record constant growth and is now represented by more than seventy employees at the St. Stefan im Rosental site, half an hour’s drive from Graz. Their innovative spirit brought them not only growing sales and turnover, but also a lot of recognition and a wide variety of awards and prizes.

Easy Engineering: How was 2022 for your business, a short summary?

DiniTech: 2022 was very exciting for us as we have moved into our new DiniTech Competence Center for Charging Technology including IT, development, sales and marketing. This was a necessary step to make because of our OEM customers whom we supply as a Tier-1-supplier, as well as the rising demand for our products, especially outside of our home market. Production had already been situated in this location and now the other departments are joining them. We are all very excited to see what the future holds.

E.E: What new products/services will be launched this year?

DiniTech: Shortly before the end of last year, we finally launched our “Smart Attachment Type 2”, which converts our mobile charging unit NRGkick into a Type 2-Type 2 charging cable. This means that NRGkick is now an “all in one” solution; EV-drivers need nothing else but this innovative product. NRGkick is the better alternative to the installed wallbox, providing a more reliable and convenient way to charge your electric vehicle. We are proud to be able to provide an effective solution for EV-drivers, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and make charging electric vehicles even easier.

E.E: How did the market change in the last year?

DiniTech: The adoption of electric vehicle (EV) fleets is gaining traction among companies, and finding a way to charge them is becoming a top priority. Fortunately, our OCPP-connected solution offers a mobile option that does not require installation, allowing for easy and flexible access. Plus, when employees leave, the charging device can be used immediately by the next person.

As connectivity becomes more crucial, giving employees access to the charging device and data availability is increasingly important. With WiFi, Bluetooth, 2G/4G M1/4G NB-IoT capabilities, our NRGkick is ready to meet these needs.

And for those looking to charge their EVs with solar power, NRGkick will also be capable of this. In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out PV charging capabilities, allowing EV owners to charge their vehicles using surplus power from their solar panels.

Overall, as the adoption of EVs and EV fleets continues to grow, it’s important to have reliable, flexible, and connected charging solutions like NRGkick. Whether it’s charging with surplus solar power or giving employees easy access to charging data, we’re committed to offering innovative and practical solutions for the EV industry.

E.E: What were the best-selling products of 2022?

DiniTech: Our mobile charging unit NRGkick has become an increasingly important part of modern life. Not only does it provide a convenient way to charge your electric vehicle, but it also now offers the option of upgrading to OCPP. OCPP is an open charging protocol that allows the charging station to communicate with other devices, enabling you to have the most efficient charging experience possible.

E.E: What sector of business do you think is expected to grow this year?

DiniTech: The electric vehicle sector is growing in all areas. Private end-customers, fleet customers, and businesses that are looking to electrify their fleets are all seeing an upsurge in demand. This growth is particularly notable in the fleet customer sector, as an increasing number of businesses are turning to electric vehicles as a means of greener, more efficient transportation. Furthermore, businesses are also looking to provide charging equipment for residential buildings as an added convenience.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

DiniTech: Electric vehicles (EVs) are quickly gaining popularity as a sustainable and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. And good news for those who have been hesitant to make the switch: EVs will become more affordable in the coming years, with more and cheaper models hitting the market.

And another trend is that companies are beginning to reimburse their employees for charging costs. This is a positive development that not only benefits employees but also encourages more people to switch to EVs.

Fleets are also making a big shift towards EVs. Many companies are now incorporating a healthy amount of EVs into their fleets, which not only reduces their carbon footprint but also saves them money in the long run. With more affordable models and better availability, it’s becoming easier and more practical for fleets to make the switch to electric.

E.E: A short message for collaborators for the beginning of the year.

DiniTech: Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming the new normal, and safe, flexible charging solutions are crucial. NRGkick is the perfect solution for EV owners and fleet managers, offering a fast, reliable and safe way to charge their vehicles.
