Dozop’s mission is to design and develop ready-to-assemble do-it-yourself products for everyday personal logistic needs. Many of them nowadays have little or no space to store at home, while the industry has always focused on delivering heavy and bulky logistics products for professionals, the company has focused on lean solutions for do-it-yourselfers and non-professionals. 

Dozop’s utility dolly provide simple, appealing and compact solutions that fit customer’s lifestyle and helps them to complete small daily tasks without breaking their back or breaking their bank account. The company has developer 5 different lines of products(dollies), which can be simply disassembled and stored easily at home, in the car or in the office.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

DOZOP: One of the main areas of activity for the company is building and maintaining our excellent customer relation. Direct contact with our customers is always a priority for us, it makes us happy when customers are sharing positive feedback and sharing photos of our products. It also important for us to understand what the end-user needs in their daily logistic tasks, so we can continue developing and making sure to fulfill all of our customer needs.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

DOZOP: In the past year we have developed 2 new lines of dollies. Our newest models are:

The Self Contained Dolly Pro – A dolly with significantly higher weight capacity and with accessories included in the package. The professional tool is able to carry loads up to 180kg/400lbs. It comes in black color and includes a set of gloves, as well as a fastening belt to secure the load of our customers. 

The Self-Contained Dolly Mini – Our innovative Mini model is as light as a feather, only 1.3 kg, it is extremely convenient for storage and transportation, whenever you need it, always on hand. It is durable and can accommodate loads up to 100kg. It’s perfect for anybody that needs to move or carry heavy, awkward, or multiple items around.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

DOZOP: Our range of dollies are COMPACT at first, since it is a key product feature extremely valuable to a Casual User given that when they shop for products that they will use on a need basis, it is more important to them that they are SMALL when you don’t need them and BIG when you do! Also, we believe that mechanisms get in the way of DESIGN, we chose to go down the road of absence of screws and extra parts. In our TOOL-LESS ready-to-assemble solutions, the absence of mechanisms allowed us to freely design with the objective to create products that are compact in size when put away while strong and functional when at use. To mention also that, aiming for an EFFORT-LESS product experience, we use high quality rollerblade casters which, when disassembled, fit inside the cavities of the platform like the other accessories.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

DOZOP: We have always been asking ourselves „How could we address the non-professional market, the casual user? In other words, the people in situation of “TOO CLOSE BUT TOO FAR ZONE” – too close to take the car but at the same time too far to walk carrying a heavy or cumbersome item.”

And we came to the conclusion that by adopting the Customer Perspective as a guideline principle in our new and disruptive Business Model design process with the objective to create value exploring new Business Model Building Blocks and forging innovative links between blocks, focusing on the Value Proposition and Customer Segment!

Reached this point of analysis and understanding, we could finally ask ourselves: “What are the attributes of a competitive value proposition under the new landscape?” “How can our value proposition address the latent market need?” Starting from these questions, we benchmarked our new and innovative set of product attributes to match those of the newly target latent market need and therefore, while the industry still concentrates on providing basic, big, heavy, commodity-like logistic products for professionals-only, we actively work on focusing and providing COMPACT forms of our products made with lightweight and user-friendly materials for Casual Multi-purpose everyday tasks.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

DOZOP: While the industry still concentrates on providing heavy, cumbersome logistics products for professionals, we are concentrating on lightweight solutions for do-it-yourselfers and non-professionals. We aim to provide for the needs of incidental movers who move mid-to-heavy loads around the home, office or short distances outdoors.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

DOZOP: The whole line of our products is innovative. Our products were selected as the winner in the category “Excellent Product Design – Retail” by the German Design Council. Dozop products reflect the company’s mission to design and develop everyday personal logistics products to help our customers lighten their loads. Our utility dolly provides simple, appealing and compact solutions that fit the lifestyle and help our customers to complete small daily tasks.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

DOZOP: The industry for do-it-yourself (DIY) home improvement retailing has observed a notable growth during the COVID-19 pandemic. DIYers in developed and developing countries are investing time to complete home improvement projects as majority of the people are under COVID-19 lockdown. Such factors are giving us positive estimations.
