INTERVIEW WITH ELODIZ

Founded in 2012, ELODIZ has grown to become a leading spectroscopy solutions provider and a reputable international partner within the analytical devices market. The Company’s core activities include development of own spectroscopy products such as Raman devices, calibration sources and special LED illumination sources for the advancement in spectroscopy and laboratory equipment.

Interview with Dr. Enrique Lozano Diz, Managing Director at ELODIZ Ltd.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Enrique Lozano Diz: Analytical instrumentation and ground-breaking new technologies are our prime interest. We provide services related to innovation and R&D in spectroscopy. ELODIZ is also one of the partners on the EU-funded consortium CHARISMA – a technology leader for the revision and creation of European standards in Raman spectroscopy for industrial applications. The CHARISMA project is set to harmonise Raman Spectroscopy for characterization across the life cycle of a material, from product design and manufacture to lifetime performance and end-of-life stage.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

E.L.D: Our recently launched ELODIZ NEEGALA™ and ELODIZ DUPLA™ Raman systems are currently the only compact multi-laser devices that combine research-grade performance with streamlined user-experience. They consist of ultra-stable diode lasers and high-performance spectrometers, designed to operate in a variety of modes.

Teaching laboratories, quality assurance services or quality control support laboratories, where the use of a single laser line might not be sufficient, can benefit greatly from the flexibility in operations that our systems offer.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

E.L.D: We offer the following:

  • analytical Raman spectroscopy instruments,
  • LED light sources and calibration kits
  • Raman accessories such as calibration tools, probes, software and sample manipulation.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

E.L.D: The reaction monitoring process control market is a mature market, however, currently not very well developed in the area of Raman spectroscopy. Further expansion of market is needed in the area of multi-channel Raman system which is the main target for ELODIZ. Our devices offer great value for money, they are more efficient and cost-effective compared to other devices already on the market.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

E.L.D: We have observed that Raman is actively replacing NIR as a spectroscopy monitoring tool as it provides ample, easier to understand information. It is being actively introduced as an online monitoring tool in processes that were traditionally analyzed offline.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

E.L.D: Our multi-channel Raman devices – Neegala and Dupla. The integration of multiple laser lines in a single device that does not require any user manipulation makes these products extremely versatile and open to a broad number of applications which, until now, were limited to bulky and lab-based research grade Raman instruments.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

E.L.D: We anticipate more demand for our devices with increased market understanding of their assets and broad applicability. We plan to introduce our products to new market segments and expand internationally. We are currently gaining new distributors in Europe and America.
