INTERVIEW WITH ENDRICH

Endrich is a design-in distributor providing all from basic electronics components to tailor made, customized solution for the applications and products of their customers. With the technical expertise, the company can understand your application in a full content. With this, Endrich enables you to decide whether to „Make” your own product or „Buy” a final solution to shorten your time 2 market process.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

ENDRICH: Components distribution, design-in support and lately product development for industrial and automotive customers in all electronic market segments

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

ENDRICH: Due to the well know situation on the market a conventional component distributor needs to extend its activities with a kind of special service for long time success. Here at Endrich we have built a worthy knowledge base throughout the 45 years of history in design-in support. This makes us capable not only to sell components, but also to develop system solutions, tailor made combination of our state-of-the-art components and underlaying services. As a start we entered to the IoT market by developing our E-IoT ecosystem, a family of own designed hardware and related software services. We make them available for our customers „as it is” or offer the possibility to get all knowledge free of cost in order to enable customers t to create the requested hardware solutions by their own. The related software environment such as the Endrich Cloud Database and the Endrich Data Visualization Gateway can be used at no cost. The concept further supports the decision „make” or „buy”. Our first development resulted in a full featured IoT single board computer, based on RISC-V MCU technology and having several sensors and communication module on board, all components are from the franchised suppliers of Endrich. This SBC and the complete hardware peripherals family developed around it act as a demonstration toolkit for IoT developers and can also be used as a basis platform for any IoT related system requirements our customers may have in mind to develop together with our engineering team. Using this test platform, we can reach the full prototype status and all the embedded software elements – as well as the hardware features – could be developed and tested. As a last step we may also work together with the customer in the industrialization (miniaturizing and approving) of the final products. For those customers, who only need narrow band communication feature for their own IoT application, and do not want or cannot meet RF design and approval requirements, we can also offer a fully approved communication module, which is a 2G/LTE-M/ NB-IoT modem. This product can be easily integrated in any MCU platforms and used as a gateway to any Cloud based Database Systems.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

ENDRICH: Components and customized solutions covering the complete range of electronic applications and products

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

ENDRICH: Mature electronic market, existing since several decades with a constant average growth rate of around 5% per year. Currently, we are facing allocations and long lead times due to booming market and corona/logistics side effects.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

ENDRICH: It is expected that the electronic market will grow faster in the future since more and more products are requiring electronic components. Future booster for this demand will be IOT connectivity, e-Mobility, health and power management trends but also environmental requirements. A car today already consists of more electronic components weight than steal.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

ENDRICH: We still see a turnover growth in 2022 but declining orders since warehouses at customer premises are fully loaded the products cannot be manufactured since a specific part is missing. So, we see declining order books but billings still on high level at least for the first half of the year. In general, we see still long lead times with >36 weeks and allocation for specific products. China and their political decision will continue to play a major role and impact the supply chain.
