INTERVIEW WITH ERTEX SOLAR

ertex solar is one of the leading companies around the world which produce laminated safety glass solar panels for building integration. The panels can, for example, be installed on façades, roofing, railings and even in artwork and fulfill all statical requirements. The company aims to integrate the photovoltaics as harmoniously as possible into the building envelope, in order to make it an energy producing hub.

Every panel they produce is exactly tailored to the needs of our customers. ertex solar can also offer standardized modules to achieve optimized solutions for customers. With variable cell allocation, distances and glass shapes, as well as a maximum panel size of 2440 x 5000 mm, just about anything is possible.

They are certificated in construction and in electronics and photovoltaic technology and most of customers are from Europe. The company also delivers to USA, Turkmenistan, Sudan and many other countries all around the world.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

ERTEX SOLAR: We produce completely customized solar panels for building integration and deliver them on-site. The panels are glass-glass modules with laminated safety glass and can be installed as roofings, facades, balconies and many more application fields.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

ERTEX SOLAR: We are currently further developing our Design Color range. The color printing technology was developed in order to maximize the generated power and so far, we have seven different colors on offer.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

ERTEX SOLAR: We produce semi-transparent, colored, printed, and insulating glass-glass modules without frame using various cell types including polycrystalline, monocrystalline, colored and also semi-transparent cells. The modules can have any shape and any size between 200 x 200 mm and 2440 x 5000 mm

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

ERTEX SOLAR: The BIPV market is still on the rise, especially due to COVID-19 and the movement towards climate change to avoid climate crisis. The importance of renewable energies is slowly coming to light. With many construction requirements in different countries such as in Austria that every newly built house has to have a photovoltaic system, the knowledge that photovoltaic solutions exist, grows.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

ERTEX SOLAR: We observe that the interest in photovoltaics of private individuals as well as small and big companies has increased over the past years. Especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, we receive more and more inquiries about terrace roofing and balcony railings for private houses and for BIPV-installations in general.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

ERTEX SOLAR: One of our innovative products are the perforated cells we are able to integrate into our panels. Using these cells, it is possible to have even more light behind/under the installation. Furthermore, we offer seven different colors in order to combine the functionality of the panels with aesthetic requirements of the building envelope. The special printing technology and color were developed in order to maximize the power output while also creating an aesthetic color.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

ERTEX SOLAR: 2021 is the starting point for the BIPV market in order to achieve the climate goals. Especially in larger cities there are currently many green initiatives planned.
