INTERVIEW WITH ESAVER

“The most climate-friendly kilowatt hour is the one you don’t consume.” – Dipl. Ing. Michael Schneider

The eSaver GmbH is manufacturer and distributor of the energy saving system eSaver®. The technical characteristics of the eSaver® refer to hardware and software as well as to a controllable transformer which acts as an inductive low-pass filter. Network contamination and unwanted current harmonics or higher frequency currents are damped by the inductors and a current smoothing is achieved as a measure to improve the network quality.

The installation of an eSaver® in the main electrical supply line of an end customer serves to achieve extensive savings in a company’s electricity consumption, directly “at the source”, i.e. over the entire electricity requirement. This results in various advantages for the customer:

Electricity recycling, because the electricity that has already been called up and also paid for isn’t lost, but used efficiently. The users of our eSaver® technology thus save large amounts of energy consumption and reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions. In addition, the customer benefits from higher operational reliability. Approx. 90 % of network failures occur <10 ms and are called wipers or flickers. The eSaver® bypasses 30 ms with the energy stored in the induction and thus prevents a large part of the power failures.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

eSaver: The eSaver® supports companies in the areas of energy efficiency,

Power recycling, grid smoothing / stable grid supply, operational safety and environmental relief. The eSaver® process can be used for all industries. The production of the system is designed exclusively to the needs of the customer, the delivery, installation, instruction, production monitoring and maintenance is all done by the manufacturer.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

eSaver: We do not have a new specific product in our portfolio, but there is a great innovation that we can report about for companies located within Germany: Since September 2019 and until further notice, the investment in our energy-saving system is subsidized by the state with up to 40%. The final amount of state funding depends on the company’s number of employees, the yearly turnover and yearly balance sheet.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

eSaver: Our main focus is on commercial and industrial customers, as this is where by far the most electricity is consumed and CO2 emissions are generated.

Energy suppliers are also gradually approaching us, because the process leads to power smoothing as mentioned before and thus to fewer failures or overloads due to usage peaks.

We continue to try to tap into the market for building efficiency and integration into municipal utilities (Stadtwerke), because the following also applies to the private sector: The friendliest kilowatt hour is the one that isn’t consumed.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active? What can you tell us about market trends?

eSaver: It can be assumed that the market in which we find ourselves will become increasingly important. Environmental protection and efficiency are gradually becoming an integral part of our society, and are also becoming an integral part of the heavy machinery of our industry. It is crucial to invest in the future, because the energy turnaround is changing the market and we are right in the middle of it!

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

eSaver: Our eSaver® itself is the one innovation we sell and whereupon we’re very proud of. Although we offer different sizes and additional modules, it remains the same basic principle and that is our unique selling point.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

eSaver: Due to recent political decisions on further pricing of CO2 emissions and ambitious climate targets for 2030, we expect annual sales to double.

We are pleased to be able to support more and more companies in their own energy turnaround. The further development of our eSaver® is that the management system integrated in the eSaver® should be able to verify the consumers behind the plant and evaluate their individual consumption.
