INTERVIEW WITH EURENER

Eurener is a family-owned manufacturing company founded in 1997 in Alicante, and since then it became a major player on EU domestic market.

The core-business of Eurener is the production of photovoltaic modules, based on its know-how driven by the experience of more than 20 years on the market.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

EURENER: Eurener’s core business is to produce modules; since 20W module for and isolated system, to engage on contracts for large EPC projects. Eurener works with a huge range of power outputs and latest technologies, but its main objective is the aesthetics and high-efficiency products, targeting the residential market.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

EURENER: The last achievement of the company was the well-known ULTRA series, based on MWT Technology.

This newest technology (Metal Wrap Through) is based on a back contact cells that allows us to produce modules with several benefits as:

  • Flawless total black optic; neither cell connections nor ribbons on the front of the module. The connections are established by a semiconductor foil on the back of the module.
  • Eco-friendly option. This module has 0 grams of lead and 0 grams of zinc, which combined with a more efficient way of production by avoiding the welding process, give us the greenest option on the market.
  • Avoiding hot-spots. These are excluded because there is no welding during the production of the module.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

EURENER: On top of the newest module in production, we do commercialize on Eurener’s portfolio half-cuts modules with multi-busbar technology achieves a power output up to 450 Wp.

  • Exceptional design;
  • Aesthetical pleasant design;
  • 9 ultra-thin rounded bus bars for a full black appearance;
  • Covered interconnections for a full black looking;
  • Smaller size but powerful;
  • Power output up to 450wp in 144 cells;
  • 166 cells and module size optimization by eliminating the cell gap;
  • Up to 21,32 % module efficiency;
  • Positive tolerance +5%;
  • Reduce the BOS costs of the installation.
  • Half cut cells and multi-busbar technology;
  • Half-cut cells have half of the working current, so the thermal loss is significantly reduced;
  • Increase the flow of electricity current by increasing the number of wires;
  • Reduces the risk of cell damage, microcracks and hotspots by a parallel connection in split cell modules allows to maintain the power production when shaded.
  • Longer life-time;
  • 15 years product warranty;
  • 25 years of product yield;
  • Severe weather resistance (Wind load 2400 Pa and Snow Load 5400 Pa);
  • Possible extended warranty conditions.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

EURENER: The European market is globally increasing the use of renewable energies. Most of the markets have implemented strategies where renewable energies take a big piece of take away to fossil energies with a view to reducing CO2 emissions and curbing the climate emergency the planet is experiencing.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

EURENER: The scenario is favorable, although the pandemic situation we are experiencing worldwide. Moreover, one of the actions taken by the EU’s government is the investment in renewables energies as a way to get out of the global crisis driven by the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns.

For the residential market, the M6 is still the most demanded and efficient due to module dimension limits that imply the installations on roof tops. Technologies such as the N-Type cell, more busbars and also higher product and performance warranty are being requested in the European markets.

Local or European production is valued, in order to be as sustainable as possible and reduce the CO2 footprint.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

EURENER: For the upcoming months we’re looking closely the R+D department, as the market is becoming more and more rigorous and the market is adjusting fast to the global demand.

We expect the use of larger cells, especially the 182 mm cell, which is particularly suitable for solar parks.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

EURENER: Considering the EU Market outlook 2020 – 2024, it has a stable growth of 18% – 20%, according SolarPower Europe, in which we do foresee the same goals, as to grow accordingly with the market.

On this 2021, and due to the shortage of modules in Asia, we expect an increase on the African demand, which is also looking for European products. Governments are supporting this new trend them with incentives and aid as they’re quite useful for off-gird installation in remote villages.
