EVEL is an Italian producer (100% MADE IN ITALY) of ventilation systems suitable for the industrial, commercial and zootechnic market sector. Their products include HVLS fans/destratifiers, portable fans, pole fans (suitable for outdoor solutions) axial fans and axial box fans.

All the fans have brushless motors with inverter on-board which grants, with very low energy consumptions (less than 1 Kw), summer cooling and winter destratification to increase the energy efficiency of the environment in which are installed (up to 30%).

Moreover, thanks to the Modbus connection or a dedicated Gateway Systems developed by EVEL, the company is able to control and maintenance their machines by remote, which is a right choice in the efficiency solutions.

Interview with Nicola Masarati, Sales Manager at EVEL srl.

Easy Engineering: How was 2022 for your business, a short summary?

Nicola Masarati: 2022 has been a really important year for our Company, in terms of results, research and opening of new markets.

In fact, in a year of such uncertainty and difficulties due to the still evident effects of the pandemic, the high costs of energy, and the drastic situation caused by the War, we grow up of a 20% with respect to 2021.

Moreover, we invest a lot in R&D, developing new products such the MDN 2000: a portable axial for indoor and outdoor solutions and the Flower Fan, an HVLS for outdoor applications.

Another important fact is that due to our scouting activities we activated new distributors all around Europe that helped us to spread our solutions.

Finally, right at the end of 2022, we reached one of our most important targets: We opened a Company named  FanTastic in the USA, the biggest and most important market for such kind of products. We will start to fight against the biggest producers of the world, we have the right technology, the right knowledge and skills, thus, we really believe that this will be the turning point of our business.

E.E: What new products/services will be launched this year?

N.M: In 2023, thanks to the very hard work of the past year made by our Engineers of the R&D Department, many interesting news will be finally released.

In terms of products, we can list 3 new model of fans:

The first one is a portable axial fans with pneumatic wheels thinked to cool with very low energy consumptions indoor or even outdoor environments like gyms or football pitches.

The second new fan is an HVLS mounted on a pole with concrete base and a diameter of 3 or 4 meters which will cool and increase the comfort of people in open spaces like bar, open restaurants, pools, dehors… with very low energy consumptions.

In terms of service, we’re releasing a new remote control through a dedicated Gateway systems that will allow in any moment, through any devices (smartphone, pc, tablet..) to control the main parameters of the machines, keep under control and record the energy consumptions and obviously, if needed, take remotely the control of the machine and solve any eventual problem on the machine.

E.E: How did the market change in the last year?

N.M: From our side is important to distinguish from the zootechnic market and the industrial/commercial market.

If we talk about zootechnic, we didn’t lose market quotes but our sales remained more or less constant: Ventilation in such market is mandatory for farmers in order to avoid a reduction in milk production, moreover the needs of machines with low energy consumptions have been a very strength point for our fans, but the war in Ukraine increased a lot the costs of feeding for farmers which had to be aware of their investments.

If we talk about industrial and commercial market sector, the very high costs of energy that companies are suffering, have pushed them to search for new solutions to keep under control those costs and the destratification actions of our HVLS fans has revealed a very good solution in this case, because it helps to reduce the energy consumption up to the 30%.

E.E: What were the best-selling products of 2022?

N.M: In terms of HVLS Fans, what we noticed is that the most selling products for industrial and commercial applications were the models of 4 and 5 meters, in particular the WF 4000 and the WZ 5000.

Another very successful product last year was the WA 1400: A Plastic Axial Box Fan with conveyor and moto-inverter, perfect for zootechnic applications. It is a very innovative product on the market, in fact we are the only one Company in Europe to realize such kind of product in three different versions: ECO – STANDARD and MAX, according to the power of the motor.

E.E: What sector of business do you think is expected to grow this year?

N.M: According to the opening of our New American Company and the kind of business that characterize the US HVLS Market, more oriented in the Industrial and Commercial sector, our will and expectations are related to an important increase of sales in such kind of sector.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

N.M: We expect a better situation for the market in 2023 more or less in all sectors, moreover, considering our investments, the technology that we have on-board that ensure very low energy consumptions (a very sensitive topics at the moment) and our very complete range of products, our target is to confirm the good result of last year with a growth of at least another 20%.
