FB Ketten produces standard, customized and special conveyor chains and transmission chains for already more than 110 years. Their production sites are in Finland and UK. In the last years, the part of customized value adding improvement solutions is rapidly increasing. The company has sister companies in Sweden, Finland, UK, Germany and Austria. The group turnover is about 50 M €.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
FB Ketten: Our goal is to be the technology and market leader in the market segments where we are working, which are sawmills, wooden boards and panels, pulp & paper, thermal power (biomass, waste, alternative fuels like plastics), construction industry (cement, gypsum, bricks, asphalt), recycling (scrap, wood, paper, construction materials), food industry (milk, yoghurt, chocolate, sweets).
We also produce customized chain application solutions for steel industry, glass industry and for OEM for all above mentioned market segments.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
FB Ketten: We have developed a scraper conveyor chain which combines the advantages of drop forged link chains or round steel link chains and modern conveyor chains, we call it FB-rEVOLUTION.
This chain is lighter than the drop forged or round steel link chains, if offers minimum the same, usually higher allowable load and breaking load and can double the bearing surface by 50-100% which effects in double life time and half of COO.
We design chains and sprockets and fit it to the existing conveyor design – no extra modification of the steel-housing necessary.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
FB Ketten: The ranges are:
- Conveyor chains, Roller chains, Leaf Chains (ISO, customized, special);
- Sharp Top Chains, Chains with plastic attachments;
- Anchor bolts (clevis) for leaf chains and roller chains;
- Sprockets, pulleys.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
FB Ketten: We are working in quite stable market segments and increase our volume by offering improvements to existing conveyor-chains-systems.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
FB Ketten: FB split sprockets which can reduce the replacement time by 80% (shafts do not have to be changed) conveyor chain sprockets with extended tooth gaps which offer double life time by turning them by 180°.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
FB Ketten: We will increase our sales in by more than 10%.
