Interview with Tiago Gonçalves, Marketing & Sales Director at Fenabel.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Tiago Gonçalves: Operating on the B2B level, both for the contract and healthcare segments, Fenabel’s core business is in the manufacturing of quality chairs, armchairs and bar stools that ally functionality, design, quality and pricing in a perfect balance.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

T.G: Fenabel launches every year new products. Last year the Brand launched the Twist collection, the Zazen colection, Penat, Leaf, Tape and a few more. All the new designs are conceived in partnership with emergent talents and established product designers.

This year won’t be exception and novelties will be presented though this can’t be disclosed yet. Stay alert to our social media updates and tradeshows’ participation in order to know in first hand when this will be happening.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

T.G: Fenabel has several product typologies: chairs and armchairs, lounge chairs, bar stools, ottomans and luggage racks as well as wood tables. The Brand also adventured in another range: outdoor chairs, with two collections presented: Pitágora and Palmar.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

T.G: As mentioned before, Fenabel targets are the contract and healthcare market segments. Both of them have interesting figures and are expected to keep growing in the next few years. It is important to highlight the exponential growth of the healthcare projects in Europe due to the population’s demographics. However, every market has its own specifies though the trend mentioned is consensual.

Concerning particular market trends for 2023, these are all about sustainability, reviving classics, vintage items and the 90’s trends, like the use of neutral tones and natural cane.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

T.G: All Fenabel’s products are innovative but we can specify name a few, such as Leaf, with natural leather and a wood structure that requires to be worked by the best artisans due to its complexity. The Penat Collection is also contemporary, elegant and different from what is seen, as Tape, that is super edgy. We can also highlight the products where natural cane and cord are used: as the Coffee Wicker, Malin Wicker and Even Est Cord Chairs.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

T.G: The year of 2023 is still an uncertain year, where decisions are being made as events are happening, not in advance as in the past. We decide as we go.

iSaloni will be this year’s milestone that will dictate the following months. Despite all the conjectures, Fenabel will keep exhibiting in trade shows, launching new products and promoting them in every market we want to reach.

We have high expectations for the year ahead!
