Finepower is an internationally operating engineering and distribution company with focus on modern power electronic applications. Since 2001, the company is a competent and reliable partner for the global customers and suppliers. With branches in Germany and China, they can provide local support for the European and Asian market.
Finepower supports customers to accelerate their development process and create a clear advantage in their targeted markets.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
FINEPOWER: Our engineering team is focusing on development service for power electronics, mainly battery chargers, DC/DC converters, AC/DC converters and PFC stages.
Our distribution group is supporting customers in automotive, industrial and consumer applications with power electronic components, such as inductors, fans and power semiconductors. Many of these are specifically tailored to the requirements of our customers.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
FINEPOWER: Our engineering is constantly improving and extending it’s knowledge on wireless power transfer and can now theoretically charge vehicles, that are moving with up to 250km/h.
Our distribution partners launch regular updates, especially our power semiconductor partners in the field of wind band gap devices, such as US based EPC for GaN FETs and the Swiss company Hitachi Energy with the SiC-based RoadPak half-bridge modules for EV drivetrain inverters of 100-300kW.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
FINEPOWER: As mentioned, we can support the development of power electronic devices for our customers with the help of our engineering team. This includes concept studies, simulations, software and hardware development as well as mechanical construction up to the mass production readiness.
In distribution we focus on power suppliers, inductors, transformers, DC fans and power semiconductors, but can also support connectors, heat sinks, current sensors and other products.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
FINEPOWER: Our target markets are both established, but also booming. Power electronics becomes increasingly important, especially with e-mobility and the urge for more renewable energy or higher power efficiency.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
FINEPOWER: As mentioned, the EV market is booming and will become a very important share of power electronics in the future. But also IT infrastructure and connectivity (for home or industrial applications) is further growing and asking for new solutions.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
FINEPOWER: Dynamic wireless charging for electric cars is certainly an extremely interesting and innovative technology. It might take a few years until the market share is significant, but we believe it is the future of charging.
Wide-Band-Gap semiconductors like GaN and SiC are driving efficiencies and power density of electronics and will become the backbone of future power applications.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
FINEPOWER: Semiconductor shortage will keep everyone busy and might trigger some nasty oscillations of shortage and overstock for certain products.
E-Mobility will increase in business, which is also important for us, both in engineering and components.
But also the need for stable and reliable supply with renewable energies is rising for which we offer complete system solutions.
