INTERVIEW WITH FINITURE

Founded by Marco Sedino in the ‘50s as Mizar, Finiture is managed from over 30 years by Giovanni Sedino, who brought together a group of collaborators specialized in the field. Multiple skills allow the management of production, which implies the commitment of expert designers, technicians and carpenters in the development of each project from scratch.

Today, Finiture is the result of the right choices made at the right time and of bets on the future and the innovation. The company is a collective reality experiencing constant growth over time thanks to its professional and human qualities. Such growth is remarkable above all abroad, which nowadays represents more than 90% of Finiture’s market.

The mission: to develop innovative technological solutions meeting the customers’ production needs, accompanying them step by step in the autonomous use of their plant. Finiture plants are designed to meet the customer’s production needs, to offer exactly what is required, while optimizing energy and product consumption, always in strict compliance with the regulations in force. The all-sized companies that have relied on Finiture for the construction of highly customized plants are located in Europe, China, Japan, India, Australia, Canada and the United States.

In 2019 Finiture integrates the necessary equipment for the post-painting phase in its production cycle. For this purpose, it has taken over the know-how and experience of the Tambone brand. The Finiture-Tambone synergy offers solutions for the assembly of glass, hardware and gaskets, as well as for handling and logistics of finished products. The company’s aim: to complete its range of products and to provide the customer with the most complete and personalized service possible.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

FINITURE: The new activity joins the specialization of Finiture in the production and installation of finishing systems developed ad hoc on the customer’s needs. The systems are designed to paint a variety of products such as windows, doors, mass timber products, furniture and special elements. The materials treated: wood, plastic, metals and composite materials.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

FINITURE: The production of elements for prefabricated wooden structures, in particular beams and panels in mass timber products, like CLT, DLT, etc., is spreading more and more in the world due to the undoubted advantages that these structures are able to offer: high thermal insulation, excellent anti-seismic characteristics, rapid assembly times, modularity, etc. The application of the coating products on large panels implies rather long application times and manual spraying does not guarantee a good uniformity of the coating. The need to industrialize and automate the painting process is therefore evident.

For this reason, Finiture ventured into the study of a first robotic system for painting mass timber products with decidedly large dimensions: maximum length 20 m, maximum height 3.2 m, maximum thickness 400 mm, with a weight of up to 5000 kg per panel. In the end, the Finiture project was chosen from a series of proposals from various manufacturers, as it was considered more reliable and more.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

FINITURE: At the moment the most requested market types are lines for doors and windows (also for high production), for mass timber products and for furniture components.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

FINITURE: 2020 was certainly a very special year. We have never stopped and basically, we cannot complain. We continue to look forward with confidence.
