INTERVIEW WITH FLURO

FLURO®-Gelenklager GmbH is a well-established manufacturer of rod ends, spherical plain bearings and precision parts based in Germany. As they have a number of customers from different parts around the world the company is expanding on the international market.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

FLURO: We have a genuine commitment to high quality production and innovative customer support. This is in conformity with the German Industrial Norm, DIN EN 648 ISO 9001 and under certification DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. In our precision part’s plant, we are able to help our customers with their individual requirements for specific application demands.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

FLURO: We are proud of the latest product innovation: the high-performance fabric FLUROGLIDE® MEDIA SOLID. Years ago, we already set standards in terms of load capacity with its self-developed PTFE sliding layer “FLUROGLIDE®”. The further developed high-performance fabric FLUROGLIDE® MEDIA SOLID is used, for example, in cylindrical sliding bushes, in spherical plain bearings of hydraulic rod ends or in vehicle and plant construction. Resistant to moisture, grease and oil, this fabric is ready to permanently withstand the toughest demands. With the FLUROGLIDE® series, consisting of FLUROGLIDE® WEAR SOLID for use under very high statistical and dynamic loads and the media-compatible FLUROGLIDE® MEDIA SOLID version, we are focusing on high-performance.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

FLURO: Rod ends and spherical plain bearings according to DIN 12240-1 and DIN 12240-4 and special parts.

E.E: What markets are you currently active?

FLURO: Food processing, food packaging, motor sport, robotics, transportation, aviation, automotive, hydraulic and pneumatic industry.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

FLURO: At this point in time difficult to tell. Trend is going toward maintenance-free parts, high grade, high-performance and high quality products. Sourcing tends to turn toward local sourcing, rather than cheap.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

FLURO: For 2020 we cannot give an estimate, as the year is almost over and with the corona pandemic it is difficult to give any forecast.
