INTERVIEW WITH FOSALI

FOSALI® is a brand that is known worldwide for its design of chandeliers and luminaries made from optic fibres, hand-blown artistic Bohemian glass and its own developed LED technologies. Fresh and innovative designs, optic fibres and latest LED technologies allow FOSALI’s designer team to introduce completely new, modern and lofty luminaires that fully harmonise with the architectural interiors.

The company also provides services and cooperation with lighting professionals for whom the company delivers a large scale of fibre optics components for indoor and outdoor use, water applications, starry sky sets, with its own manufacture of LED light sources, intelligent control etc.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

FOSALI: We focus on the manufacture of chandeliers that create atmosphere in space. No dull chandeliers but modern looking pieces of lighting fixture that bring sparkle to the interior and will become its centrepiece for the many to admire. All chandeliers are based on the latest developments in LED technology, that is our motto. We use special lighting characteristics of the optic fibres in order to bring light to places where no electricity is needed or possible.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

FOSALI: For this year we are introducing biodynamic (tunable white) versions in some of our designs. This opens up new lighting and design possibilities for the clients in order to combine with the rest of their lighting provisions and bring enhanced user comfort experience. Furthermore, we have introduced new colour combinations in our latest addition of ASTER. It now features a combination of glass with white pearl, champagne and pearl champagne finishes with more finishes to come later during 2021. Lastly, we will launch a brand new collection of chandeliers. It will feature a break-through development in a continuous glass connecting system, which I am looking forward to revealing later this year.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

FOSALI: Our portfolio is divided into OPTIC FIBRE collection, where the main focus is on the beautiful play of decorative light the optic fibres offer combined with artistic glass. This includes products such as INFINITO, AQUILA or ASTER. Then, we offer LED RANGE chandeliers such as LURE or SOLINA which base their design on powerful lighting effects, offer dimming possibilities or centralised systems for dynamic control. And of course, a combination of the two – that is a beauty of optic fibres, limitless lighting possibilities of LED powered designs all combined with our unique technologies and hand-blown glass.

A separate attention is focused on individual lighting designs which we offer worldwide. In these we use our know-how, develop new technologies of any scope and offer installation services for bespoke projects such as digitally controlled chandeliers, OEM manufacture of LED components or hardware and software developments.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

FOSALI: The lighting industry is now focused on innovations in LED based products and the clients expect high quality, durability and service-free products, this has become a standard. The lighting market is mature and whilst the clients seek innovations, at the same time they wish to own an eye-pleasing piece of light in their interiors. The appreciation of hand-working techniques and local production is in high demand in our sector. We feature these attributes and being staged in Central Europe it just makes a perfect match.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

FOSALI: Even though the optic fibres offer a thrilling experience and are a backbone of our activities, more popular products are becoming LED powered collections. LURE has become a very successful product range, being followed by a LED based chandelier INFINITO.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

FOSALI: The market will continue its quest for individual lighting pieces which feature both latest lighting innovations and added value at the same time. We expect the market to be more appreciative to such aspects since there is a lack of physical experience over the past year due to global situations. Hence, we aim to get as close as possible to our clients in digital and online platforms and will work vigorously to achieve this.
