INTERVIEW WITH GALILEO CUPWHEEL

After years and years, tire industry hasn’t evolved to meet technological standards that off-road machinery (ag, construction, mining) has. Galileo CupWheel has created a hybrid (tire-track combination) tire that fits tough working conditions. Galileo CupWheel’s tire is extra durable, has better performance thanks to larger footprint and better traction and allow for smoother and more comfortable ride for the driver, which is also beneficial for the machine itself (the tire serves as suspension). Many of their tires are airless and all are run-flat; insuring zero down-time.

Interview with Rotem Sade, Marketing & Communication at Galileo CupWheel.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Rotem Sade: We design and manufacture tires for heavy duty machinery such as agriculture, construction, mining, etc.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

R.S: We now have new tires; some are pneumatic and some airless. The air-free tires were designed to support users and application that are sensitive to punctures. Construction and irrigation for example. To date, these markers have used either solid tires, rubber tracks, cheap tires or other after-market tailored solutions. All of which have very high total cost of ownership due to down-time or low efficiency. The Galileo CupWheel has no disadvantages – it can drive both on and off-road, it has no punctures, the tire sidewall is less exposed to damages, it is self-cleaning and uses the machine horse powers to full extent, while having a softer ride. The performance of the tire changes the performance of the whole machine. They can work faster, much faster and can change the whole outcomes of the user’s business.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

R.S: We are always working on new tires. At the moment, we have tires for loaders, tractors and irrigation. We will soon release telescopic machine tires and large loader and ADT tire.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

R.S: The market is quite mature with established brands and offers. However, this market has seen almost zero fundamental innovation in the last 50 years.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

R.S: In construction Zero down-time is the main concern.  More and more users are using foam filled and solid tires. These solutions are known for their endless limitations such as very high slippage, bumpy, uncomfortable ride and high costs.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

R.S: Ours 😊

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

R.S: 2022 will be our first year with large commercial product available for various applications. We are expecting to multiply our sale by 30 times in comparison to 2021.
