INTERVIEW WITH GERVASI ECOLOGICA SRL

GERVASI Ecologica is a 40-years experienced manufacturer of semitrailers for scrap transport. The company is specialized in design and production of semitrailers for the collection and transport of scrap metal and end-of-life materials. All the production is made-to-measure and easily registered in all the countries thanks to the European type approval.

Interview with Benedetta Reale, Responsabile Marketing, Gervasi Ecologica.

Easy Engineering: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

Benedetta Reale: In 2021 we expect to promote GEN!O, the special kit that, despite the difficult context, Gervasi Ecologica managed to launch this year. GEN!O is a modular system that assures a full and active control on trailer safety and efficiency.

In addition, in the next year we expect to accomplish another important project, which will make available a new solution. I cannot spoiler anything in this moment, but I will keep you informed, because it’s a very interesting new product!

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

B.R: The range of products include tipper semitrailers and moving floor semitrailers, with the possibility to have trailer with crane on the chassis to make easier the collection of scrap and end-of-life materials at the source.

Trailer chassis and body are Gervasi original design and are conceived to assure long working life and high residual value, despite extremely tough and wearing tasks.

The chassis is made in high resistance steel, while the body is made in wear-resistant steel (Hardox/XAR) with straight internal sides and external reinforcing vertical ribs, to assure top performance and quick unloading.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

B.R: Trailer manufacturing is a mature market, where the innovation is primarily driven by Agenda 2030 objectives for a sustainable development. It’s a big challenge that needs also the positive contribute of our sector, but is also an incredible motivation because whichever improvement we reach it will bring benefits to environment and all our community.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

B.R: In terms of market trend, there are already positive signs in terms of new vehicles registrations in Europe.  After the general decline that the industrial vehicles market experienced from July 2019, the latest months mark a slight recovery that we are confident will continue over 2021.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

B.R: The flagship product is Maxi Tiger, the tipper semitrailer with capacity up to 86 cbm and a special system with two lateral cylinders, that make the unloading extremely safe, despite the big volumes.

This solution is particularly appreciated when there are big volumes of scrap to be moved from large terminals to other destinations. The big capacity of Maxi Tiger allows to reduce the number of travels with consequent important savings in terms of pollution, traffic and costs for drivers and fuel.

Skyler is the other semitrailer conceived to move large volumes up to 90 cbm.

It is a moving floor semitrailer 100% steel, equipped with a special system of 9 slats in steel (Keith walking floor V9 system) that allows the horizontal unloading of scrap metals and many different bulks.

Cobra and Canguro complete the range on smaller capacity and different features.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

B.R: Our estimates for 2021 are positive. The market trend seems improving and we have important projects to deliver in the next few months.

Of course, being specialised in a small niche of the market, enables us to focus all our efforts in creating innovations and excellence. We have a dedicated team to this purpose, who is continuously working on new ideas and challenges to better support the work of the circular economy companies.

We are therefore sure that it will be a great 2021!
