Interview with Jacco Wagelaar, CEO of GI-OVO. Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company? Jacco Wagelaar: GI OVO operates globally. E.E: What’s the news about new products? J.W: Recently we introduced the EggsCargoSystem XL. This system is a copy of the well-known EggsCargoSystem but in this case meant for duck and turkey eggs. In February GI OVO releases a machine which is capable of detecting broken egg trays, the ECS Tray Inspector. Broken trays can cause big trouble in the production chain of eggs and therefore have to be removed. E.E: What are the ranges of products? J.W: EggsCargoSystem – HatchCargoSystem – Eggyplay – CEEP – Pallet&Co. E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active? J.W: Our markets are high-end and innovative. E.E: What can you tell us about market trends? J.W: More and more companies worldwide choose to more atomize their production. Both the EggsCargoSystem as well as the HatchCargoSystem meets this trend perfectly. Both system can be handled by robots reducing labor cost to a minimum. Beside there is a trend in hatcheries to transform to the principle of “early feeding”. GI OVO will anticipate on this subject later this year with a revolutionary system. E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed? J.W: The EggsCargoSystem traditional and XL. E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022? J.W: GI OVO hopes to be able to meet her clients again on international exhibitions and conferences. With the existing systems combined with the new innovations GI OVO expects to grow at least 20% in terms of turnover.
