INTERVIEW WITH GREENMAX

In an increasing world of concrete, pavement and buildings, it is the mission of GreenMax to create a sustainable, green living environment. The company strives for a healthy balance between green, gray and blue in the urban environment. Their products are used to protect and establish newly transplanted trees, and also to invigorate and enhance the future growth and value of existing trees.

Helping Trees to Survive

GreenMax is a combination of the colours Green, Grey and Blue. GreenMax sees the increasing demand for complex infrastructure and the need for more green in the urban environment. This is a positive development because there are many economic benefits for increasing the life expectancy of trees, providing a good infrastructure and creating healthy street trees within the city. Together with the economic benefits, the quality of life in our cities will also be positively affected by an increase in the number of trees and the creation of landscapes.

Innovation and durability

For decades, the innovative products of GreenMax have been used to improve the tree planting pit and protect the infrastructure. GreenMax values quality and correct installation of the materials. Their products are made of high-quality 100% recyclable materials which can be returned for recycling when they are no longer needed.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

GreenMax: GreenMax works for the green sector, municipalities and road and hydraulic engineering companies.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

GreenMax: Product development and innovation are one of GreenMax’s most important activities. We keep our eyes and ears open in the market to look for ideas for new products and solutions to existing problems. Every year, we bring a series of new products to the market, of which we are extremely proud!

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

GreenMax: We have several products in our line. RootBlock, Tree Root Guide, RootControl, Watering Edge, Tree Aeration, Tree Drainage, and more.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

GreenMax: The market is currently growing rapidly, due to the high demand for products for the environment and the improvement of greenery in the city.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

GreenMax: At the moment, circularity and biodegradability are major trends in the market. For example, the circular retaining walls are used by municipalities, among others, against uncontrolled root growth.

GreenMax has launched a new variant in order not to exhaust a ‘finite’ stock of raw materials. All residual materials are completely reused in the system. In this way we contribute as much as possible to a circular economy. We are proud of this beautiful development. In this way the circle is complete again; reuse waste while protecting and helping our green living environment.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

GreenMax: We have our Circular RootBlock. The Circular RootBlock®, made from PMD household waste, is tougher and slightly less hard than the RootBlock® made of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). The circular wall is gray, which color is created because different products are recycled into a new product.

We can choose to make the Circular RootBlock® green, but then we have to add dye. In this application we want to implement durability as much as possible, which is why we have chosen to keep the original color.

We also have our RecyFlex: edging on a roll which is made from 100% recycled plastic. The household plastic that you separate from all other waste at home is converted into RecyFlex edging at GreenMax. This gives the material a second life and makes it extremely durable and lasting for a very long time. In addition, the RecyFlex boarding can be recycled again and serve as a raw material for new productions. It is therefore not in vain that we can call it the most environmentally conscious edging at the moment.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

GreenMax: We hope for a year in which the processes and techniques for reuse and recycling will only grow and improve. We will continue to develop new products in 2022 that will benefit trees and the environment.
