E.E: What’s the news about new products?

Greiner Packaging: We continually work on new product innovations – all of them considering our high priority for sustainability and a global circular economy. Here’s a list of our latest product developments in the packaging sector:

K3® r100: The cardboard wrap which covers a thin plastic cup detaches from the cup all by itself during the waste collection process. This development significantly increases the recyclability of cardboard-plastic combinations to a maximum.

Home-compostable capsules: To improve the ecological footprint of capsule solutions, we have developed home-compostable capsules that disintegrate and finally disappear on consumers’ compost heap.

Recyclable sleeve packaging: Sleeve packaging solutions have a whole host of benefits to offer. The correct combination of plastic cups and sleeve materials makes them ideal for recycling, with an added zipper allowing consumers to separate the sleeve before disposal.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

Greiner Packaging: As mentioned above, in the packaging sector we offer 11 different product categories to our customers – from cups to bottles to closures.
The wide range of products is possible due to the range of production technologies we offer. Greiner Packaging is known for sheet extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, extrusion blow molding, and injection blow molding.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

Greiner Packaging: As mentioned above, we are active in various food and non-food markets. Therefore, there is no general answer to this question.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Greiner Packaging: Sustainability respectively circular economy plays a decisive role. Therefore, we launched a campaign called “Join the Circular Revolution”. Under the motto “reDUCE, reUSE, reCYCLE”, we show how packaging can be created in the most sustainable way possible. We help our customers to reduce material and CO2 emissions, we support the development of reusable packaging solutions, and we offer products made of recycled material by at the same time having a high recyclability rate.

To conclude, our goal is to find the best individual solution for each case our customers have.
