INTERVIEW WITH GROUPE GARONNE

French quarry equipment importer located in the south of France, Groupe Garonne has been reseller for over 14 years of following brands: GIPO, Anaconda, Gasparin, Komplet, IMS and Weir.

Since 2021, the company became creator and manufacturer of quarry equipment throughout their own factory and new brand: Garonne. Now, the company has the ability to deal with boundless projects to realize tailor-made solutions for clients.

Interview with Christophe Castaldo, CEO of Groupe Garonne.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Christophe Castaldo: The company is specialized in crushing and screening quarry materials. Recycling is one of the biggest international issues and we want to help enterprise to improve their way to deal better with their aggregates.

Selling and designing tailor-made equipment are part of our daily missions but we also offer other services such as exceptional convoy transport, ASS and maintenance.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

C.C: The group is likely to grow its own range of product on years to come to complete the existing equipment on market and answer for more client’s need. In addition to mobile conveyors, limers and fixed installations, a new range of homemade crushers, screeners and shredders are coming soon.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

C.C: The Group offer equipment which can answer every kind of demand with fixed, mobile and modular equipment. From selling screeners, crushers, scalpers and conveyors, we are now completing these existing machines which our own: fixed or modular installations and mobile bi-energy tailor-made equipment. As far as mobile is concerned, we offer conveyors, limers and for fixed and modular solutions, they can be either for washing or crushing use. All of these are designed to easily evolve to suit product valorization.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

C.C: The French market doesn’t have its own product, actually we are the exclusive importer for quarry machines (at least among above listed constructors). This might be the main reason why we heading towards creating our own equipment to match French quarry demands. Our goal isn’t only to develop and grow notoriety around our brand on national stage but also international.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

C.C: Market trend is a lot competitive, especially for exceptional convoy transport but we value our service as much as possible as we are able to take in charge all our client project from design, to construction, to transport and to ASS.

We keep dealing with the price of iron which skyrocketed recently but we try to do as much as we can not only to continue our activity but to keep on innovating.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

C.C: The most innovative product for now must be our brand new limer. They are no equipment like this one on the international market for now. Our limer includes a hopper within the machine when in other existing equipment it is separated from it. For user, it’s an inconsiderable advantage as they can reuse the limed material straight away on the quarry.

In order to grow awareness about environmental sustainability, we are attending the BAUMA exhibition to present our limer and our tailor-made solutions to improve recycling.
