Interview with Grégory Pradels, VP Development HEMERIA.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Grégory Pradels: HEMERIA is involved in the development of new space products such as smallsat platforms, solar generators or electrical harnesses; and in the development of new defense products such as tracking systems or electronic boxes for defense applications. We also work with French defense for the maintenance of their operational systems.

E.E: What is the news of new products?

G.P: Today we are announcing a very powerful product: a smallsat platform dedicated to Earth observation and science with unique performance.

E.E: What are the product lines?

G.P: Our smallsat platform is around 25kg, capable of carrying 25kg / 40L of payload but the most impressive aspect is the consistency of all the performances (power, flow, propulsion, etc.), where our competitors are good on one or two aspects only.

E.E: At what stage is the market in which you are currently active?

G.P: Today we mainly work for the institutional market, but the private market is now looking for our products.

E.E: What can you tell us about the market trends?

G.P: The main trend is the timing; we must always do more and more quickly.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

G.P: In terms of satellite, StarLink’s design is definitely a disruption. Something we need to consider in the EU.

E.E: What estimates do you have for 2022?

G.P: In 2022, we should see the continuity of new entrepreneurs offering disruptive approaches. The space market remains very young and is full of adventurers.
