How do they do this? By providing the highest quality of equipment that allows you to test across a wide range of specialized applications.

At Industrial Physics, they develop test and inspection instruments for a variety of demands. And they can offer multiple solutions across a diverse range of industries. Utilizing the latest advancements in technology, Industrial Physics’ instruments test across highly specific applications that will ensure the integrity of your packaging, products and materials.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Industrial Physics: We operate across a family of brands – including Systech Illinois and many others. We’ve been supporting the food and beverage, flexible packaging, medical, and coatings markets for almost a century.

Thanks to our global network of technical and support experts, access to advanced technology, and diverse product portfolio, we’re able to offer reliable equipment that adheres to all relevant industry standards.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

Industrial Physics: In 2021 we launched the new version of our Lyssy L80-6000 – a new and improved water vapor instrument for permeability. It’s a highly reliable instrument that offers users advanced functionality.

With this instrument you can test for water on both sides (a truly impressive feature), tests can be performed on coated paper based materials, and you can experience a wider measurement range with low maintenance.

We pride ourselves on providing affordable and accurate permeation solutions that offer our customers real value for money – you can find out more about the Lyssy L80-6000 and everything it offers you here.

We also have numerous products on the horizon – in fact, coming soon as have a new oxygen deficiency monitor which will bring a new solution to the market.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

Industrial Physics: Across the Industrial Physics portfolio, we offer solutions that can be used to test across a whole range of specialized applications. And these instruments have been created to service a wide variety of industries – these include food and beverage, consumer electronics, medical devices, and food packaging.

For our Systech Illinois brand specifically, we offer products that test across a range of applications for different markets. One of the biggest areas we focus on is permeation – we have a wealth of instruments that can be used to measure gas permeation on almost any material, finished product, or package configuration.

We offer gas analyzers, headspace analyzers, oxygen analyzers, OTR & WVTR instruments, optical oxygen analyzers, and a variety of high quality equipment that allows you to ensure the integrity of bottles, food packaging, films, foils, and a whole host of materials.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

Industrial Physics: Across our portfolio of products, we offer a wealth of solutions. One of the biggest markets we are active in is the permeation space – we’ve been providing solutions to customers within this space for almost 30 years and have established a track record of providing the highest quality of instruments at a truly affordable price when it comes to both purchase and ownership costs. Under our Systech Illinois brand, we are one of the world’s leading suppliers of permeation instruments for the food and pharmaceutical markets.

We have a huge area of expertise within headspace analysis specifically – this is an area we’ve been experiencing a great deal of growth in and we’re excited to continuing providing more advanced solutions to customers across this application. The Systech Illinois line of gas headspace analyzers are engineered to offer all the latest technologies at a fraction of the price offered by other providers.

And within process gas monitoring we provide solutions across a wide breadth of markets – we also offer a selection of room air monitoring instruments that ensure human safety.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Industrial Physics: As most test and inspection providers would attest to, there are clearly seasonal purchasing trends that can be tracked across the market. This is true for our portfolio of products – as permeation is a significant investment for organizations, this is especially true when purchasing products to perform this application.

Within the process gas monitoring market, we’ve seen rapid recovery in these later stages of the pandemic – specifically in the USA and China.

In 2019, we launched a number of new permeation instruments (our 7100 WVTR and our 8100 OTR), and we’ve noticed that customers are responding well to these high quality solutions.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

Industrial Physics: Below you can find an overview of some of our products that we believe offer truly advanced functionalities:

  • Systech Illinois 8700 Oxygen Permeability Analyzer – a bottle / package tester which can test eleven samples at a time;
  • Systech Illinois 8100 / 7100 Permeation Analyzers – this solution incorporates our proprietary sensor technologies that offer the widest test ranges from a single instrument. The instrument does not require the use of expensive, specialty gases – reducing the cost of ownership by thousands of dollars every year;
  • In our process analyzers we use a race cell – this gives the widest test range from ppm to percent level oxygen concentrations with no appreciable delay when switching test ranges.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

Industrial Physics: We are extremely excited about our new oxygen deficiency monitor – we’ll have more news on this as the year unfolds. We believe this new product will bring offer an innovative solution to the market.

We’re also looking to bring new capability models to our oxygen transmission rate analyzer within the coming year. We are especially excited to make advancements that will provide our customers with new functionalities in a way that reduces the cost of ownership for the user.

Above all else, we’re excited to continuing provide the highest quality of test and inspection solutions that ensure the integrity of our customer’s brand and products.
