INTERVIEW WITH JMG CRANES

In 2007 Maurizio Manzini founds JMG Cranes. His twenty-year know-how in the pick & carry sector merges with the technological innovation: that’s the core of this new productive reality.

The Headquarter is located in a modern site in Cremona while the productive site is in Sarmato (Piacenza) where a completely new area is going to be built and will become a real “Innovation Village”:  an area that will give work to the inhabitants of the area, but it will also represent a real “new working environment”, characterized by new technologies, services and facilities available to the people who work there and those who wants to experience it also in their free time, all powered by energy derived from renewable sources.

Interview with Sara Mondini, Marketing & Communication Specialist at JMG Cranes.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Sara Mondini: JMG Cranes offers a wide range of fully innovative and high quality full-electric mobile Pick & Carry cranes, with a load capacity from 2,5t to 70t.

JMG Cranes are fully designed by the R&D Dept., built, assembled and tested in our sites. Service and After Sales Dept. offer the customer a 360° assistance.

JMG cranes are suitable for any industrial field: Aerospace, Automotive, Chemical & Petrochemical, Machine Building, Installation of glass panels, Glass Industry, Military & Defense, Food Industry, Foundries, Iron & Steel, Mould & Die, Marble & Stone, Marine, Museum, Paper Mill, Pipes & Fittings, Power & Nuclear Plants, Coils Handling, Railway, Rental & Rigging, Tires Manufacturing, Winery.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

S.M: The brand new MC250.09FL allows lifting an important load, positioned close to the machine in terms of barycenter, but also very high. The new machine mounts a latest generation cabin, totally integrated and fully electrically operated. The lifting mast can be combined with either the fork carriage or a hydraulic crane jib with electronic system, load indicator and tilting moment limiting device. The reach possibilities benefit from an additional technical gem represented by the undercarriage with variable pitch that, depending on the needs, can be extended by 1,200 mm at the rear.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

S.M: LIFTER CRANES: The lifter range features an innovative steering system that guaranteeing agility, precision and simultaneous movements.

RADIO REMOTE CONTROLLER: The range of radio remote controlled cranes is designed to perform optimal maneuvers in narrow spaces.

CABINATE CABIN CRUISE: The “Cabin-Cruise” range meets the needs of those who want to control the machine directly without giving up the possibility of remote controlling through radio-remote control.

LIGE CABIN CRUISE: The “Lige” range is made up of electric battery-operated Pick&Carry cranes, designed to guarantee agile and precise performances even in narrow spaces.

CARRY DECK CRANES: Their articulated telescopic boom makes them ideal for carrying out industrial maintenance. Compact and powerful, easy to manoeuvre, they guarantee very high precision movements.

TELESCOPIC FORKLIFT: Compact and easy to handle, the telescopic forklift is designed to integrate the 8 ton hydraulic fork and the 12 ton max capacity.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

S.M: The electric Pick & Carry cranes sector is constantly growing.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

S.M: The market in Italy has seen constant growth since 2019, unlike many other sectors and despite the obvious and objective difficulties due to the pandemic.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

S.M: The hystorical Italian brand Lige has been completely  revolutionized The new range consists of four models: Lige 40, Lige 60, Lige 90 and Lige 120 with maximum capacities of 4, 6, 9 and 12 tons. The first three models have been completely redesigned to optimize the electrical and hydraulic systems and adapt them to the most modern technologies available today. In addition, a major restyling of the design has been carried out to modernize the line of these new machines. On the other hand, the L-120 is a new proposal designed to expand a family of compact, versatile, easy-to-use machines that feature the technologies found on JMG pick and carry cranes. All the new Lige cranes, in fact, are equipped with a hydraulic telescopic boom and on the base boom there is a floating head that can be fixed in several positions. The four cranes are also fully electric, with front-wheel drive and rear steering axle and powered by battery packs sized to allow eight hours of combined work between translation and boom movements. The new Lige models benefit from a spacious and comfortable workplace and visibility is always at the highest level. Obviously, since we are talking about JMG Cranes, we are talking about compact cranes, full optional (winch, mechanical jib, extensions, hydraulic jib and hydraulic forks), with traction on the front wheels with counter-rotation, completely battery-electric (therefore with zero emissions).

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

S.M: The market trend is growing and we expect the trend to be positive for 2022 as well.
